Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2015/06/08) */
This is a customer that had another contractor the year before that he was not happy with so he called meI told him the previous contractor did the job correctly, but sometimes cracks get biggerI told him I would fill the single crack in
his driveway when I got something in the area for $to cover my costsHe emailed over and over asking for datesI finally was able to get something in the area and gave him a date that was contingent on weatherearly in the week we had rain and cold weather and could not work so our schedule got pushed back each dayHe continued to complainwe were on the day that we planned on completing the job and he continued to press for an exact timeWe are not a dental office we cant give exact times, I told him thatAfter more and more demanding emails I told him that he should find another contractor to do the jobHe then emailed me multiple times threatening meI told him to stop contacting mebottom line he never signed a contract with me, I never performed any work for him, he never paid any moneyWe could not find a time to do the job
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 11, 2015/06/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The contractor's statement bear little resemblance to either truth or reality, but this is consistent with the manner, which we consider to be far short of professional, in which he addressed us
Following a promised date and cancellation and another promised date and cancellation, on May 22, 2015, at approximately 3:CDT, we sent the following e-mail inquiry to the contractor, who has promised the day before to show up "after 12":
"Well, it certainly is not this morning and in two hours it will be this eveningAny idea when you might be here? I took off Wedmorning; cancelledI took off Thmorning; cancelledI took off all day Fri.; as of 3PM, no wordI would like your help, but now we are approaching the start of a day weekend and had expected this not to be a consideration this late in the weekMight we hope to see you soon so we can finish this and get one with other matters? Thank you for your assistance with this***"
Demanding? Threatening? NeitherIt was a recap and an inquiryThe contractor wasted three days of our time and all we did was send an inquiry about what time he would show up that day, given that it already was 3:p.mon the Friday before a three day weekendAsking what time that day the crew would arrive became necessary given the fact that our weekend plans were being kept on hold by his lacks of cooperation and meaningful communication
At about 3:CDT that day, the contractor responding by informing us that his "crew has other jobs today for about $I was doing the $crackfill at break even." He then informed us to find another contractor, eventually instructing us to "Get lost."
We find all of this to be short of the level of professionalism we are entitled to expect and see no harm in other consumers being made aware of how little regard (none) the contractor showed in keeping his end of an agreement we made with himHe treated that deal non-existent, and without any regard for us, failed to show up twice one the days work was promised to be completed and finally refused, as of 3:on the Friday afternoon that started the Memorial Day weekend to confirm what time he would showHe never showed but, instead, abandoned us
We had to expend substantial time and considerable resources to have the work completed by another contractorThis contractor did not treat us in a manner that we consider even slightly professionalThis matter was not resolved to our satisfaction

Customer is demanding and abusive this is why the company that filled and sealcoated his driveway last year wont help him outI had numerous emails from him telling me I have no integrity and suchI simply choose not to work for him and he makes it a big dealWeather is a factor in my businessHe does not seem to care about the other customers that were before him when bad weather delayed uswe do over driveways a year and he is the only one complainingWe get one guy like this every yearI did tell him to "get lost" because he wouldn't stop emailing

We had our driveway done by themThey said they would try to get done Monday or Tuesday Then said their truck broke down and would try to get to it thursday or at least this weekThen said they would try ti do it fridayThen saturday between and They showed up about 12:Did an OK jobEdging looks bad thoughProfessional? Try jet black or someone else

The customer stated she received two free seal coats since 2012. Sealer was coming up after winter. Our crew came out and she wanted it pressure washed first. We decided that since she has recieved two seals already and it has been three...

years that we have satisfied our obligation

Rick and White Bear asphalt agreed to redo the driveway this year again as the problem was never corrected.
I did not suggest to pressure wash it, that was the crews suggestion. I only questioned if that would solve the problem of it continuing to peel. They stated it would take care of it as it was a very high pressure washer but they couldn't do it that day and would come on Friday or Saturday.
The two "free" seal coats were done by the company as they knew it was bad material when it was first put on.
I would still request a permanent fix for this ongoing problem and according to the crew the pressure wash and reseal will do that.
Thank you.
