Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:On 12/my husband went in with a tire issue and they found the rim (wheel) cracked At this point in time we had to decide between spending $on one wheel or spending $more and getting a new tires and new wheels We had the service department inspect the other three wheels and they assured us that the others were in great condition They felt this cracked wheel was highly irregular and that the other wheels would be fine On 1/we came in with another tire issue only to discover once again a different cracked wheelAfter the service department inspected the other wheels they assured us again that the other wheels were great At this point in time, questioning the reliability of the service department's inspections, my husband asked that another service technician please come out and check the wheels for a second inspection Only after my husband made the request and after a second inspection did they find the second cracked wheel Once again proof that these wheels were faulty when we purchased them because their service department can't detect a cracked wheel. On 1/when the car had finally had the wheels replaced my husband requested a "world class" inspection of his car before leaving, this included all brakes I have attached the invoice that states he requested the inspection and that the inspection was done and they checked off the brakes as being in great condition I have also attached the document from our local mechanic fixing the brakes that were not in great condition 1/ These documents either proof that their service department is incapable of inspecting a car properly which is why we are requesting the reimbursement for the faulty wheels or they lied about the doing the inspection In either case this resulted in my husband not being able to stop at a busy intersection and putting his life and the life of my son at riskThis type of fraudulent business activity needs to be reported and they need to be held accountable.I have also attached the GMC part list for the wheels showing the cost of the wheels, they didn't offer us the huge discount they were claiming on the wheels Sincerely, [redacted]

On May 12, 2015, Mr*** *** purchased a pre-owned GMC Yukon Denali XL with 48,miles from the White Bear Lake SuperstoreApproximated seven months later, on December 9, 2015, Mr*** returned to the Superstore service department complaining that the left rear tire
was losing airAt that time the vehicle had 63,miles on the odometer indicating it had been driven 14,since Mr***'s purchaseUpon inspection it was determined that the left rear wheel rim was cracked and Mr*** purchased a new replacement rim that was installed on December 18, One month later the vehicle was returned to our service department having been driven an addition miles, and upon inspection cracks were discovered in two addition wheelsAfter negotiations between Mr***, the Superstore Used Vehicle Sales Manager and the Superstore General Manager, Mr*** purchased two additional wheels at a substantially reduced price - the Superstore participating in obtaining the lower price at its expense in an attempt to re-establish good will with our customer
Damage is sustained on wheels and tires from curbs, potholes and bumpy road conditionsSuch damage is occasioned by vehicle use and is not covered by warrantyThe dealership does not warrant against such damage on pre-owned vehicles and the manufacturer's warranty does not cover such damage on new vehiclesIn this case Mr*** had driven the vehicle over 16,miles since its purchase and the dealership endeavored to re-establish his satisfaction with the Superstore by substantially discounting the cost of the replacement wheels he purchased
As a further gesture of good will and in order to settle all claims arising out of Mr***'s purchase of his Yukon, the dealership will offer to reimburse him for the cost of the brake pad replacement by his mechanic in Lake Elmo upon being furnished an invoice evidencing the repairs and cost

I am rejecting this response because:On 12/9 my husband went in with a tire issue and they found the rim (wheel) cracked.  At this point in time we had to decide between spending $869 on one wheel or spending $400 more and getting a 4 new tires and 4 new wheels.  We had the service department inspect the other three wheels and they assured us that the others were in great condition.  They felt this cracked wheel was highly irregular and that the other wheels would be fine.  On 1/18 we came in with another tire issue only to discover once again a different cracked wheel. After the service department inspected the other wheels they assured us again that the other wheels were great.  At this point in time, questioning the reliability of the service department's inspections, my husband asked that another service technician please come out and check the wheels for a second inspection.  Only after my husband made the request and after a second inspection did they find the second cracked wheel.  Once again proof that these wheels were faulty when we purchased them because their service department can't detect a cracked wheel. On 1/26 when the car had finally had the wheels replaced my husband requested a "world class" inspection of his car before leaving, this included all brakes.  I have attached the invoice that states he requested the inspection and that the inspection was done and they checked off the brakes as being in great condition.  I have also attached the document from our local mechanic fixing the brakes that were not in great condition 1/29.  These documents either proof that their service department is incapable of inspecting a car properly which is why we are requesting the reimbursement for the faulty wheels or they lied about the doing the inspection.  In either case this resulted in my husband not being able to stop at a busy intersection and putting his life and the life of my son at risk. This type of fraudulent business activity needs to be reported and they need to be held accountable.I have also attached the GMC part list for the wheels showing the cost of the wheels, they didn't offer us the huge discount they were claiming on the wheels.
Sincerely,
