Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Business response doesn't address the problem at heart. They charged money to replace gasket or weather stripping whatever it is called. This material is unglued and is unraveling. Business should standby their quality of work. Earlier strip we had, lasted 8 years. The one these guys placed didn't last even 2 days. It is unfortunate to read the answer in which business representative is circling around the wagon without taking responsibility for not finishing the job right. As I have mentioned earlier we need total refund of a job which is not done right.

The business has responded.  Please see below:On August *, 2015 we did a job at this customer’s house where we replaced a panel in his hall bath. This went well and he was very happy with it. He asked us to make a small repair in his master bath (the $75.00 repair). This repair involved...

replacing (1) small clear vinyl gasket. His door and fiberglass pan originally were installed incorrectly. He blamed us for a leak that had existed for years. I met him on November **, 2015 7:45 am and showed him the existing problem on his master shower door. I told him I could only fix the gasket if I made the door single acting. He approved this. I dispatched my mechanic on December **, 2015 to do this repair letting [redacted] know I would not send a bill. My installer was told by him that he wouldn’t allow us to make the door single acting. That morning I had a lengthy conversation with [redacted], re-explaining our original conversation. It was clear at that point that he was stubbornly bla ming us for everything and not listening to a word I said. His complaint about taking days off is simply untrue. I met him at 7:45am (2-1/2 hours prior to my normal appointment time). Both of the times mechanics were sent to his home, he was scheduled and completed on our 1st morning stop. For more than 27 years I’ve worked hard with each client to provide quality materials and workmanship at a fair price. I feel comfortable knowing that this job was given far more than normal attention to satisfy this client.

Review: I hired white plains glass and mirror company to fix weather stripping on the shower door. I was asked $75 to fix the pealed off strip. which I paid. Just few days later stripping started to come off again. I called the company and I was told that company owner [redacted] will call me back. Few days later I got a call from Tom who suggested that he has to come and inspect the problem before he sends out a repair guy. I told him that since they don't work on weekends if he could come either early in the morning of late in the evening as I and my wife both works in New York city to where we commute. I was told that unfortunately they can't do that. Meaning for him to come and take a look which may take 10 minutes, I have to take a day off from work.

We had no choice so we gave in and waited for him to schedule a visit. It took months to schedule a visit during which water was leaking and have caused damage to a wall next to the door. Finally one day [redacted] shows up and after looking at the damage quickly disowned the responsibility. I asked if he could fix the pealed off weather stripping for which I paid $75 while we resolve the wall damage issue? He said he couldn't fix during his visit as he is not a repair person. So now it will be another day off from work for me to have his repair guy to come and fix the problem. I had noticed very little understanding from [redacted] on the issue and it was like there is only one way to have this done and that is his way. Had no choice. Scheduled a visit for a repair guy for another day. He came and tried to apply a vinyl strip which would limit the functionality of a shower door by not allowing it to open inside the shower space as it was doing all the time. I refused the solution and told clearly to [redacted] that I would not accept a solution which is limiting shower door operation. During the discussion he went on arguing that he can't have his repair guy keep coming back as it costs him money etc. I told him that you have charged me money to fix the problem and now if he can't fix it then it is his problem. Either he should fix it the way it was or give my money back.

He told his repair guy to use the same weather strip and glue it. I told him that the strip he is using is not of the same dimensions as the original was hence it is going to come off again. Repair man told me that he is using better product this time as a glue material and also asked us to keep the door open for 36 hours.

We kept it open for 48 hours and for that period of time didn't even use the shower. Third day after my wife used the shower I went in and noticed the strip has started unraveling again. Next day I placed a call to WP glass and Mirror and spoke with Ms. Linda who suggested that she will report the issue to [redacted]. I got a call from [redacted] next day. He was clearly not ready to take any responsibility. Wouldn't let me even talk over the phone. He said what ever he had to and hung up on me. What he finally told me was that he has tried to fix the issue and wasted lot of time of his repair guy. Now he is not going to fix it and will not refund the money ($75) that he has charged for the job. As I was telling him that I am going to report his behavior to Revdex.com he hung up on me.Desired Settlement: Total refund.
