White Top Cab

Review: On August 23, 2014. I exited the [redacted] Metro station en route to [redacted] and [redacted]. As I begin to walk, it began to rain, so I decided to take a taxi. At this point, I had already walked past the taxi stand at the [redacted] Metro station, so I reversed course and approached the first taxi in the queue. I asked if the driver if he was accepting fares, and he stated that he was and motioned for me to get into the cab. Once inside, I informed the driver that I was going to [redacted] & [redacted] at [redacted]. Despite this, the driver took me to [redacted] and [redacted], which was about a 5 minute drive from [redacted] Metro station. Upon arriving, I reminded the driver that I wanted to go to [redacted] & [redacted] at [redacted]. The driver then told me that he didn't know where that was. At that point, I stated that I would get out and asked how much the fare was. The driver stated that the fare was $6.85. I then attempted to hand the driver my debit card. The driver then asked, "Why don't you have cash? It's only $6.85." I stated that I simply didn't have any cash on me. The driver then "stated, that's why you people never get ahead. You will never get ahead like that." The driver also made a comment about President Obama which was inaudible. I did not respond and the driver then took my debit card. At this time the driver said, "You're gonna need to call a another cab to go to Ourisman, it's all the way down there (pointing up the street)". I stated that's fine, and asked for my debit card back. The driver handed my card back to me, and stated, "Get out of my cab, I don't have time for this st. $6.85." I then said, "You are very rude," and asked for a receipt. The driver responded, "I don't have time for this [redacted], get out of my cab now," and again made an inaudible comment about Obama." At this point, I was extremely upset and exited the cab immediately. As I walked away from the cab, I googled White Top Cab Co. and called to make a complaint about the driver. When I reached White Top Cab, I relayed the incident with the driver and stated that I wanted to file a complaint. I informed the employee that unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the medallion number before the driver pulled away, but described the driver, provided my point of origination as well as my drop off point, and the amount I paid for the fare, along with the last four digits of my debit card. The employee took my information and stated that her supervisor was out but that he would call me back upon his return on Monday. I did not receive a call on Monday. so on or about Wednesday, August 27, 2014, I again called White Top Cab and stated I wanted to make a complaint against a driver.I again provided the information I provided on Saturday, August 23rd and was told that the driver would be located and that I would receive a follow-up call by the end of the week. I never received a follow up call. Accordingly, I called for the third and final time approximately a week later and again relayed my interaction with the driver, and provided my origin point, my drop off point, as well as the amount of my fare, along with the last four digits of my debit card. Once again, I was told that someone would call me within a few days. This was approximately 2 weeks ago and I have yet to hear back from White Top Cab Co. Not only, am I disgusted that a taxi driver would speak to a customer in such a manner, but I am utterly shocked and dismayed that upon being made aware of the incident, White Top Cab Co. has not made any effort to address the situation, despite the fact that I have called multiple times. I believe this is a prime example of customer service at its worst.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my cab fare as well as an apology from the driver and White Top Cab Co. for the manner in which they have handled this matter.
