Please be advised that I contacted Days Inn Corporate Office regarding this matter. After considering the information from Ms. [redacted] and myself, Days Inn Corporate Office determined that Days Inn Portland had fully resolved the matter and no additional action was necessary. They closed the... case.Allow me to point out some other factual matters:Ms. [redacted] never brought up the issue regarding her and her children having lice until after she left the property. At about 6:10 P.M. she returned to drop off three Patient Discharge Instructions. At that time Ms. [redacted] wanted a one day refund. Please note she had already been offered andaccepted a 10% refund regarding her other complaint. More regarding that complaint below.Let's start from the beginning. During the check in. Ms. [redacted] told me that she was checking in herself and her two children. This is reflected on the folio. According to the Customer's Statement (CS), "We spent two nights here. The 2nd night we stayed we ended up killing roaches and we end up with bed lice." Me and both my kids (4 month and a 4year old) along with my husband."Let's look at room [redacted] rental history. The night before Ms. [redacted] checked in the room was rented over 6 days in a row. It was also rented after Ms. ***'s stay with no complaints of roaches and/or lice. Note no mention in the C.S. of either roaches or bed lice regarding the first night. As part of routine service, Terminix treated room [redacted] about two weeks prior to Ms. ***'s stay.Leaving aside the missing Patient Discharge Instructions for her husband and the life cycle of lice, there is a reason why you don't hear about there being a lice issue(s) at the Days Inn Portland - or any other reputable property: the laundry protocol. Noteworthy, the assigned housekeepers didn't get lice and neither did the laundry person. In the C.S. Ms. [redacted] says, "I would like my whole refund due to that fact that our health was on the line." My response is that there is front desk staff available 24 hours a day. I specifically asked the relevant desk clerks if any complaint(s) were received during Ms. ***'s stay. It is my understanding that the "roaches complaint" was first mentioned after Ms. [redacted] and children apparently had breakfast in the breakfast area on the morning of June 23.Note that the purchase price is in error, after the partial 10% one night refund Ms. [redacted] paid $190.63 not $203.00 as indicated.I want to thank Ms. [redacted] and the BBB for bringing this matter to my attention and the patience of hearing my side of the story.Sincerely, [redacted] , [redacted]
