Counterfeit Boots from Foreign Source
White's Boots is a legit company with the highest quality. There are a couple of companies selling fake White's boots from other countries. I don't know why the there is no consumer protection in this country. White's Boots and their customers deserve to be protected from internet fraud. Biden's FBI needs to do something besides chase after our own citizens whose only crime is not being liberal.

Great Boots shadowed by the worst customer service.
Pros: 9/10, The fit and finish is unmatched. Boots that feel like they were made for my feet, the best part is they look even better. Not a stitch out of place or scuff on the leather. The 9 is only because nothing is perfect, always room for improvement maybe cost, but you get what you pay for.

Cons: 0/10, I ordered them straight off White’s web site and was quoted 4-6 weeks (even during the pandemic) and paid full retail $579+tax S/H. I emailed customer service at 6 weeks for an ETA, I was told I would receive an email once shipped. Not a real problem except that’s why I had emailed you, so I sent another email same day asking ETA? I was told a couple weeks. I emailed at 8 weeks and was given same answer a couple of weeks. At 10 weeks I was told they were actually out of the leather, but it had come back in and it would be a couple weeks. At 12 weeks I wrote an email expressing my dissatisfaction with the customer service and total disregard for concern of getting my order to me. By this time, I had watched them go on sales between me ordering and receiving them. This time the response from white’s customer service was more then two sentences apologizing for the confusion of my order and for the information they gave me, but that they will ship in a day or two, which they did and was a few additional days of transportation.

I can’t support a company that allows their employees to treat customers like that. I could not recommend this brand to anyone. Very disappointing because the quality and craftsmanship of these boots in above and beyond.
Great Boots shadowed by the worst customer service.

Have had whites off and on over the past 30 years currently I have 4 pairs a pair of packers semi Dress and 2 pair of Work boots. I had one pair of boots re built after a year of use and purchased a new pair oh Line boots with a composite toe in them. The boots I had rebuilt squeak like hell and didnt seem to be holding up so I returned them to be fixed. So with that going on I am wearing my new pair they squeak like hell when I walk and rub the heck out of my right toe. So my choice is to be miserable until my rebuilds are back in 4 to 6 weeks then send my new pair in for re build that will take at least 4 to 6 weeks to repair. Basically I have $1000 tied up in boots that I can’t wear I have decided to give another boot manufacturer a try just wish I could get my money back.

I was a life long customer of Redwings Boots for 30+ years. I was always satisfied with Redwings until The last pair I bought had a tag inside that said "Made in China". I ALWAYS prefer "American Made" if possible, so, About 3 years ago I bought my first pair of Whites Boots Fire Jumpers at a price over $500.00. They were the hardest boots I've ever had to break in, but once broken in they fit and wore well. The only real problem I've had with them has been the incessant, and seemingly unstoppable, squeaking. It is so loud that inside a building with hard floors it will interrupt conferences. They started it shortly after purchase and progressively got worse for 8 months or so. I contacted Whites Boots explained the problem and, at their request, sent them back for repair. Whites Boots kept them for something over 2 months (forever in my world) and when I got them back, sure enough the squeak was much less to nearly gone,,,,, For about 1 month. Then, the same as when they were new the squeak got steadily louder to the point of real nuisance once again. I figured Whites Boots did their best to fix it and failed, so, I figured I would try a local Cobbler. This cobblers 70+ year old professional confident opinion was that a new pair of soles would fix the squeak. He said, The soles weren't properly glued in the original construction process and he would fix that with the new soles. He charged me $125 and took an additional week to "Fix" them... Well,,, He did fix them,,, For about 1 month! Sure enough, they started squeaking yet again. Now here we are! The uppers are less than half worn out but I'm throwing them in the garbage where they should have been 2-1/2 years ago and I'm going back to Redwings... Redwings have gone "China-Made" and it turns my stomach to wear anything "China Made",,, But, everyone and everything has a limit. I will sacrifice my own pride in "American Made" for "China Made" to finally be rid of the constant frustration of incessant Squeaking of Whites Boots that seemingly cant be fixed.

I’ve been buying boots for 30 years off the shelf. In January of 2014 I spent $535.06 at Whistle Workwear. I had them measure me for a pair of custom White’s boots. The sales personal were excellent, taking the measurements 3 times to insure accuracy. One month later the boots show up. The left boot was at least one sized to big. They measured my foot and the size had not changed. The boots were sent back. One month later they return. Now the boot arch is to far forward stuffing my toes into the steel tip. They were sent back again. 6 months after the order, the boots return. They shaved the arch down. Now there is a gap between my foot and the aft part of the arch that is still pushing my foot forward in the boot.
IMHO this is what they did:
They resized the original LH shoe instead of building a new shoe. Leaving the arch misplaced in the shoe. The new LH shoe was now wider than the RH shoe after the rebuild giving me a pair of miss matched boots. I could just here the ridicule from the guys at work.
Then they shaved the arch down still leaving it misplaced in the shoe. When talking to the customer rep at White’s I was told they cannot move the arch. White’s will not refund your money for boots if you buy them from someone else. I dropped the boots off at Whistle Workwear and told them to refund my credit card. It’s been three days and nothing is posted to the account. I’ve never disputed a charge that was 6 months old. I’m sure it will be a pain if I even get my money back at all.

I have nothing but compliments for White's Boots.

I own three pairs that were custom made by White's. My wife got jealous, and she ordered a pair as well. I think the secret is in (1) the high quality leather, (2) the excellent workmanship of the shoe makers and (3) the great and personal service level they achieve.

Last but not least: if I wear my packers, the pain in my lower back is gone in about three days. They are a joy to wear (after breaking in of course).

White's is making shoes at a level that is rare nowadays. The Goodyear welt the shoes have, contribute to their comfort, and long lasting life.

I live in Holland. I have to pay a lot of shipping costs, the VAT tax is 21% here, and then there's a customs fee. So I pay a lot more than Americans do. But it's worth it. Shoes of this level are rare, worldwide. White's Boots can be proud of the heirloom quality they deliver. BRAVO!

Review: I ordered custom measured boots in July 2013 from an authorized dealer. Over the last 15 months I have been unable to get the boots to feel comfortable. White's has tried to stretch the boots without success. I paid $460 for the boots( this does not include all of the postage and travel money I have spent), now they want another $110 to relast the boots.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a pair of custom made boots that actually fit/are comfortable to wear.

Response:

Mr. [redacted] purchased this pair of boots from a store named [redacted] in Alliance Nebraska in August 2013. [redacted]’s Shoe Store purchases White’s Boots wholesale from us, to stock and sell in their retail store. Mr. [redacted] was fit for a pair of boots at [redacted]’s, and they submitted a request for a pair of custom boots to be manufactured for him. We constructed the boots as [redacted]’s directed and shipped them to [redacted]’s [redacted] in Alliance Nebraska, on August 15, 2013, for their customer.

Mr. [redacted] contacted us directly, at the factory on November 22, 2013 informing us these boots did not fit. We encouraged Mr. [redacted] to contact [redacted]’s [redacted] Store, directly to request assistance with any issues that he may have, as they would be responsible to honor any guarantees to the customer. Mr. [redacted] stated that he had since moved from Nebraska to California and he was unable to return the boots to the store he purchased them from because of the distance. We told Mr. [redacted] that because of the unusual circumstances, we would be happy to adjust the boots for him by either attempting to stretch the boots at no charge including free shipping OR rebuild the boots to a new size for half the cost.

The boots were received into our factory from Mr. [redacted] on November 26, 2013. I gave Mr. [redacted] a call and asked him whether he would like the boots to be stretched or rebuilt. Mr. [redacted] requested that we stretch the boots for him at no charge which we did.

The boots were returned to Mr. [redacted] December 4, 2013 and Mr. [redacted] wore them and did not contact us again until April 28th, 2014 when he said that the boots have developed a squeak and he wanted to know how the squeak could be eliminated at which time he did not mention any more issues with the size not working after we had stretched them. I informed Mr. [redacted] we are more than willing to remove the squeak for him. Mr. [redacted] returned the boots on May 19, 2014 with a request to remove the squeak. We removed the squeak for him and returned the boots on May 29, 2014 at no charge.

On July 25, 2014, Mr. [redacted] emailed us and said that he had shipped the boots to [redacted]’s [redacted] Store, in Nebraska because he just does not want them anymore. We have had no further requests or conversation with Mr. [redacted]. Therefore I am unsure why Mr. [redacted] has a complaint with White's Boots and not [redacted]’s [redacted], the store where he purchased the boots.

I called [redacted] on October 9, 2014 and the sales associate who helped Mr. [redacted] said that they have his boots and they are unsure why Mr. [redacted] has not been in contact with them or expressed complaints directly to them. [redacted] store said they will be willing to guarantee their fit, and they will be returning the boots to us at the factory, to be resized according to Mr. [redacted] request. I have also contacted Mr. [redacted] and told him to please let us know the size boot he would like to have these reworked to. I am sorry Mr. [redacted] feels that he has received unsatisfactory customer service, as we have always been willing to go above and beyond his requests.

What a huge disappointment ! I recently sent my husbands boots in to have them rebuilt. My husband owns two pair of Whites Boots. He has owned them for several years. Long story short I called Whites and spoke with [redacted]. He was less than helpful or professional. I found him to be sarcastic and agitated while I explained to him what needed to be done. While speaking with [redacted], I had inquired about a pair of laces. He mentioned that they were under new ownership/management. He would "see what he could do." They received the boots on Christmas Eve 2014. Were returned to us on Feb 13, 2015. First of all, there is an eyelet missing, it looks as though they attempted to polish them, but they didn't match the color or even come close . Not to mention, there were no laces included. This is not the customer service we are accustomed to . We paid $277.60 + $27.00 in S & H. What a huge disappointment ! I have left multiple messages with personnel and have yet to receive a call back. My husband will be traveling to Spokane next week and will definitely be stopping in with boots in tow to express his disappointment.

I bought a pair of Danner boots in mid Nov. of 2013, by Feb. of 2014 they were getting wet inside. I called Whites and they said "they would send them back to Danner to be looked at." This would take about a month. I realize this is not a whites boots, but they are only 3 1/2 months old. Whites does not stand behind what they sale. I wear a steel toed boot in construction and need my boots every day. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BOOT FROM WHITES AGAIN... And they were going to charge me $10 to ship them to Danner.

I had my feet measured for a custom pair of boots while in Spokane, WA. Boots were sent to me when they were ready. I had to work extremely hard to get my feet into the boots and then the [redacted] of my feet ached extremely after wearing them. I sent them back to be fixed and they paid for shipping. Again the boots were mailed back and I had the same problems with them. I had to buy another pair of boots to wear because of this. I was going to be in Spokane so I called and asked if we could ship the boots back to them and I would come in personally and have them measure my feet again and correct the fit issues. They agreed but after they received the boots they told me they would refund my money for the boots but would not pay for the shipping. I told them I was not happy about that and they paid my original shipping cost but I'm still out about $30.00 in shipping. I guess that if I lived in Spokane I could have gone into the store and things would have worked out differently. I would not recommend Whites Boots because of my experience with them.

I drove 5 hours to Spokane to be fitted and purchase a pair of white boots. Well worth the drive! The employees at whites where knowledgeable, courteous and service was prompt. I had a very positive experience at the whites store. I would definitely recommend them to any of my friends or family members. I finally have a pair of boots that fit well and have the best arch support I have ever come across in my 42 years.
Thank you White's for making great boots!

I have 2 pairs of White's smoke jumpers with issue of walking over one pair that are about 5 years old. The other pair not 1 year old, the tongue slips. I contacted Whites and got [redacted] in customer service. [redacted] was very prompt with her responses. She had me send my boots in for evaluation and sent frequent updates on the progress. Not only did they reset my heels but replaced the tongues and laces on both pairs of boots. Classy place and great customer service. I will purchase another part of Whites Boots. Wes

Review: I purchased a pair of Whites Boots Hawthorne Explorers before the 2015 fire season. The beginning of the season was slow, and I used them primarily just for hiking. Halfway through the 6 month season, after only a handful of days on actual wildfires, the boots starts breaking down and soon had totally fallen apart. The leather quickly burned through in several places, and the front toe of one boot came totally removed from the sole, opening a flap that had to be taped until I could get a replacement boot. This to me represents a defect in material (shoddy leather that became seriously damaged prematurely) and craftmanship (poor boot to sole lacing the resulted in the opening of the toe flap). The Whites warranty : "White's and Hathorn brand boots are unquestionably warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship one year from date of purchase."Desired Settlement: I contacted Whites, and upon request sent in my pair of damaged boots. They would not grant me a full refund of the boots, even after I offered to take the refund in store credit. I believe that a full refund of the boots is in order, according to their stated warranty and my boot breakdown timeline.

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The bottom line is the boots barely saw 3-4 weeks of actual wildfire before they broke down. The fires the boots were on were also not particularly hot. I am a loyal customer, this was my third pair of explorers, so I know what to expect and what's normal and what's not. Total breakdown after barely a month of wildfire use is premature. So general wear and tear or abuse voids the warranty, fine. Neither thing happened here, the boots were worked out in for two months then saw less that a month of very moderate heat. Again, this was a major safety concern, I was forced to tape and glue the boots for half a roll due to their rapid breakdown. As a gesture of comprimise, I offered to take my refund in store credit instead of cash, but my offer was rejected.

Response:

Dear Sir.

To resolve this issue, upon a timely return of your Hathorn Explorer’s to our facility, we will be willing to place an in store credit towards a pair of White’s manufactured boots on your account in the amount of $239.19.

The credit from this boot will act as fulfillment of warranty. In the future if an issue with a purchase arises, we do ask that the boots be sent in when the issue occurs rather than delaying the return by several months. We will continue following our warranty policy by warrantying defects in materials and workmanship but not wear and tear. We trust it is now better understood what is considered a defect and what is considered wear and tear.
