Whitten Brother's Body Shop Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. There will be no resolution to this affairI have since had to rent a car (another $300) to drive to SavannahThe van was not in any condition to make it back to RichmondThe catalytic converter is not the reason that the car is not drivableBefore the accident, I was experiencing no problems with the car which can be validated by service recordsThe car was returned to me in a condition that resulted in my being stranded in Savannah and unable to drive the car backYes, the van had mileage on it--but it was only "undrivable" after my car broke down after losing quarts of transmission fluid (the amount of which is insignificant compared to the fact that my car could not even go into gear and I had to sign a form saying the transmission was damaged)The car was also leaking significant fluid--water, oil, and transmission fluid--which Whitten Bros wants to maintain was not part of the accidentHowever, I had NO fluid leakage prior, only after the car was returned to me documented by my several calls to their service departmenKevin swore to me that there was NO fluid leakage in the van when it was in for repairsHow can that be true then?
The bottom line is that the car was returned to me in an unsatisfactory conditionThe transmission issue is directly related to the repairs doneMr W*** states there was no engine damage but the car was never checked by a mechanic and it was only after I insisted that there was damage, that the radiator and condenser was replacedThe first report to the insurance company will confirm thisThe dealership in Savannah (who had also had it with Whitten Bros because up until the morning I picked it up, Whitten Bros had not paid their bill)-- they ended up giving me $for the van--a generous gesture because with the damage done to the car, it was now worth less than $My car--had it been totaled like it should have--would have been worth $It was based on information by Whitten Bros that Farmer's did not total the carThis dealership did the right thing and now has me as a customerWhitten Bros deserves the negative ratings that are so prevelant on their reviews for this body shop, and they will never have me or anyone that I have told of this incident.

To whom it may concern at the Revdex.com:
I will attempt to address the complaints and statements that ***
*** makes in Revdex.com case# ***. Whitten Brothers is an authorized *** collision repair facility and did not “undervalue” damage to “get the contract”. *** adjusters look at photos that Whitten Brothers estimators upload into a collision industry specific software system (CCC One). The *** adjuster scrutinizes the ESTIMATE written by a Whitten Brothers employee and relevant photos that have been uploaded and is free to ask for additional photos and information at their discretion. Our goal is to repair the vehicle properly and never “under” or “over” repair a vehicle. The damage to the vehicle wasn’t to the engine, the damage didn’t extend past the radiator and AC condenser. The radiator support was intact as well. The context of the services requested and repairs required didn’t involve a comprehensive scrutinizing of the entire mechanical systems of the *** *** *** * *** that had 227,miles on the odometer. The ”faulty” installation she references is a pinched transmission cooler line where it attaches to the radiator that allowed fluid to slowly leak out. The shop in Savannah GA put quarts (not as she references in her complaint) in the transmission and the van was operational again. She then went on her way again and the van failed north of Savannah and was towed back again. This failure was determined (by a shop in Georgia) to be an engine issue that resulted from a clogged catalytic converter issue. The oil leaks are pre-existing issues from a van that has 227,miles on the odometer and may or may not have been maintained over the years etc
Whitten Brothers Inchas been in contact with *** and has paid the bill for her repair in Georgia and a mechanical check fee and her rental bill
Whitten Brothers inchas done more than we are responsible for at this point and while we sympathize with Ms***, we can’t make her 227,mile decade plus old Van “new”again
Whitten Brothers Inccan’t “total” a car, only her insurance carrier, ***, can legally do so. We simply repair wrecked vehicles with permission from the owner and insurance companies
Sincerely
Darrel W***
