Review: I was looking for reverse osmosis filters and found that says "HAVE A TECHNICAL QUESTION? EMAIL STEVE, HE KNOWS HOW TO SOLVE MOST PROBLEMS [email protected]". Since I'm new to changing them I decided to call him for advice. He told me that I should change pre and post filters annually and the membrane every 3-5 years. He also said that his filters are compatible, easy to change and will not leak. I bought the filters and they didn't come with any instructions but were easy to change. Then I bought the membrane since the previous owner had not changed it. Again it came without any sort of instructions or product description. When I changed the membrane, there was a leak at the drain site of the membrane. When I contacted Mr. Steve, he told me to return it to him. I paid the return shipping ( 18 dollars), it took him 2 weeks to decide and I had to buy water all this time. When I got the new membrane, there was still a small leak. He told me to send the membrane back, again at my expense. By this time I was also experiencing a leak in my system so I contacted my local dealer who told me that they can fix the leak. Mr. Steve also wanted to talk to the local plumber who was helping me so I gave him the phone number but after Mr. Steve talked to him, my local dealer got mad at me and even refused to service the system. I don't know what Mr. Steve told him but I'm still trying to find someone to fix my system. Since I didn't want to keep going to the post office and pay shipping and wait for the membrane I put little silicone in the membrane to stop the leak. I found out from the local dealers, many experts and users that you should not even change your membrane unless there is a problem. Mr. Steve is trying to sell inferior quality generic products without any sort of instructions and talking people into changing the membrane every 3 years that is not only unnecessary and expensive, creates a lot of plastic waste. I am tired, frustrated and still water less.Desired Settlement: I request Mr. Steve to refund me for the membrane cost (148.00 dollars) that excludes the shipping I paid twice. I also request him to provide instruction sheets and stop misguiding people into buying membranes every 3 years. If it continues, people will stop trusting sellers and buying products online. In response to the only complaint we have ever received about our membranes, (we have shipped out approximately 500 of these over the last 5 years and not one of them has ever been returned defective) filed by Miss S[redacted]a Bhattacharyya, what she failed to include in her complaint is that Mr. D[redacted] sent her a replacement membrane free of charge, even absorbing the shipping cost. He sent her the replacement on good faith that Miss S[redacted]a would send back the original part to be tested. Miss S[redacted]a claimed the membrane was defective because of a leak that she encountered after trying to install the part herself as she claims. Mr. D[redacted] received the original membrane, tested it, and found it to be in perfect working condition, free of any defects whatsoever.
