10/12/I'm writing this letter in response to complaint ID ***On 3/13/we picked up four tires from *** *** *** in Martinsburg, WVThey were tires that were being returned for adjustmentThe tires had cracking on the sidewallOur facility put them on a claim form and
returned the tires to our home office in Clarksburg, WVOn 4/24/we issued a credit to *** *** *** for $For active customers we put these credits on their accounts and they use the credits as they purchase additional products*** *** *** has had the credit available since 4/24/14.In regards to the adjustment of the products and the amount that We returned to *** *** *** for credit, we adjusted the tires under the condition of "Defects in Workmanship & Materials" (I've included a copy from our manufactures that explains this process)The remaining tread depth of these tires when they were returned was 4/32nds, 6/32nds, 3/32nds and 6/32ndsThey have 13/32nds when they are newThey were used beyond the first 2/32nds which gives a no charge replacementWhen this occurs the customer is charged for the "worn" portion of the tiresOur industry, like many others, calls this prorating the credit allowance, The customer pays for what they have worn and we credit the remaining unused tread of the tireThe industry declares a tire to be worn out with 2/32nds of tread remaining, so we reduce the last 2/32nds from the tread that is remainingFor example: A new tire begins with 13/32nds of tread on itThe customer returns the tire and it had 4/32nds of tread on itLegally it has 2/32nds of usable tread on it because the tire is worn out at 2/32ndsTo calculate the credit we take the 2/32nds of remaining tread and divide it by the 13/32nds which is the new tread depth and the calculation tells us that 15% of the tread is remainingWe take the price that we charged *** *** *** and multiply it by 15% and that's the credit that we issue to him.This is how all tire companies adjust tiresIt's exactly how our suppliers tell us how to handle adjustmentsThe attached instructions support thisCustomers don't get to ride on tires for 1/years and 32,000+ miles for no chargeOur credit to *** *** *** was $We base this on what he paid for the tires***'s credit to his customer should also be based on what he sold these tires to his customer forThis customer should receive more than what we returned to ***'s.Thank you,William W,

I am rejecting this response because I don't expect to ride around on tires for 1/years/32,miles for free but I do expect that a 60,miles tire last at least thatIf they are under a 60,miles warranty then I should have been reimbursed accordinglyyou state that ***s's received payment on 4/24/i did receive a call around that time from ***s stating that when they received the money I would be call back to pick up my checkIf I would have received that call in April this issue would have been over in AprilI also filed a complaint against ***s's, id ***You may want to read itOne or both companies are questionable and I will not deal with either againI finally did receive a call from Brendan on 9/30/to pick up a check for $which I didAccording to your reply it should have been $So even now the stories are different.
