Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowUnfortunately, Ms [redacted] failed to mention that the unit I received is a modified version of the Lure Baby which has not been in production for years In fact I was the first to order the modified unit and it took months to get it As far as I know it is a one-off prototype It is no longer listed as an option on her web site The modifications are the source of most of the problems with this unit as detailed in my complaintsboard.com write up with photos The inch hole cut in the case to accommodate the larger motor, left the uninsulated electrical terminals of the motor exposed outside the case (see attached photo) just waiting for a metal object to weld itself to them Entirely unsafe with no overload protection provided (fuse) and not in keeping with any electrical design standards anywhere under any circumstances It was entirely possible, using the original equipment slightly modified, to get the motor inside the case The extra holes in the case were not pre drilled holes for production convenience, they are production screw ups because they are drilled right next to each other as shown in the second photo The placement of this hole is very critical to the successful operation of the line leveler mechanism Mine still did not operate properly in any of the holes that were drilled for it The leveler arm hit the leveler motor casing on every strokeAn offer of a new case that I can put the redesigned unit in would resolve all the issues Regards, [redacted]

I have been building custom lure coursing equipment for 11 years. The system Mr. [redacted] purchased from me is in no way deficient and that particular model has been in production for the entire... time I’ve been in business. There have been no complaints as to its use, reliability, design or function from ANY of the hundreds of customers who have purchased this identical equipment – ever – because it is well-designed and well-built. The equipment I build is not high-tech, nor do the systems require the kind of extreme tolerances, precision and redundancies Mr. [redacted] is demanding in order to function properly. There was nothing wrong with the coupler – it functioned well and would not have failed. I know this because (a) I bench test literally every machine before shipping them, including his, and (b) virtually all the Lure Babies are built like that and none of them have come back as defective. In Mr. [redacted] ’s machine nothing has melted, nothing has overloaded, nothing has short-circuited, nothing has failed, and, in fact, everything is functioning flawlessly. Mr. [redacted] has described possible scenarios that he has dreamed up – not anything that has happened, nor that will happen. His complaint is thus frivolous, pretentious, and absurd, as well as a waste of time for everyone involved. As far as the presence of additional holes in the case, I often pre-drill cases as a production time-saver in order to accept a variety of internal components, some of which are not used for all models. This is nothing that detracts from the structural integrity of the case in any way. The fact that he did not like the way it was built or the way it looks really has no bearing on its performance or on anything else. Mr. [redacted] really needs to relax and just enjoy the machine, because it works well and is really a lot of fun to use. If Mr. [redacted] would like to design and build on a production basis equipment as he’s described, and for the price he paid for what I already built him, I think he’ll find it is not such a simple thing to do but he’s certainly welcome to do so. If he’d like me to build him a custom machine with all the changes he’s described, and with the tolerances and precision of a jet, I’ll be happy to do so. The cost will be approximately $3,500 plus shipping. This customer has no basis for a complaint and I will not waste any more time on itThere's nothing wrong with the machine, it functions properly, I do not need to nor do I care to justify myself or my designs or operations to him, therefore there's no basis for a complaint and I'm done dealing with this

Unfortunately, Ms. [redacted] failed to mention that the unit I received is a modified version of the Lure Baby which has not been in production for 11 years.  In fact I was the first to order the modified unit and it took 7 months to get it.  As far as I know it is a one-off prototype.  It is no longer listed as an option on her web site.  The modifications are the source of most of the problems with this unit as detailed in my complaintsboard.com write up with photos.  The 3.5 inch hole cut in the case to accommodate the larger motor, left the uninsulated electrical terminals of the motor exposed outside the case (see attached photo) just waiting for a metal object to weld itself to them.  Entirely unsafe with no overload protection provided (fuse) and not in keeping with any electrical design standards anywhere under any circumstances.  It was entirely possible, using the original equipment slightly modified, to get the motor inside the case.
The extra holes in the case were not pre drilled holes for production convenience, they are production screw ups because they are drilled right next to each other as shown in the second photo.  The placement of this hole is very critical to the successful operation of the line leveler mechanism.  Mine still did not operate properly in any of the 3 holes that were drilled for it.  The leveler arm hit the leveler motor casing on every stroke.
An offer of a new case that I can put the redesigned unit in would resolve all the issues.
