(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
We do not accept this response because they are in no way offering anything to us to resolve our concern. The contract we signed with their event coordinator states NOTHING in regards to refunds of unused product and that refunds will not be issued. I can provide these signed documents if necessary. Our problem with this transaction that occurred is that we used 0% of the beer keg, it was never even opened and now the wicked moose has already used it in their normal restaurant and sold it to their normal customers therefore making their own additional money off a keg we already paid for but were not allowed to consume or get a refund on. Therefore it appears to us that they are making money twice on one product. If they were to give us a refund, which we feel is fair, they would not be out any money or profit because they are in possession of the keg and it can be used/resold for another private event if it hasn't been used already. The general manager even told us that on the phone that they will use it for their "normal stock" so he clearly had no concern that they would not make their money back on the keg. It is only right for them to refund our money because he will be selling the keg again either in restaurant or to a private party where he will get the same price we paid for the keg if not more. There is no loss of money here for the business, it is a scam for them to charge multiple parties for a product that we already paid for. Appears they are only trying to gain more money at our loss. We also would like it noted that we were not rude to the guy on the phone and it was actually the other way around with him yelling at us. We never tried to get anything from the event coordinator, only inquired in regards to the refund in which she said it was not up to her and would leave a message for the general manager. When we did not hear from anyone in regards to our request that is when we called the restaurant and spoke with the manager directly. He also refused to tell us the contact of the restaurant owner whom we asked to speak with when he was rude to us. We still request a refund being that the business has the keg and can and will make additional money off of it if not more then the amount that we paid. He admits that their cost is only $70 for the keg but tries to say they gave us a discount at $225, does not make sense to us.
