Wickwood Inn

My husband and I had planned to spend one night at the Wickwood Inn It was the end of January (2017) and we were excited to get one night away without our kids It just so happened that we caught the stomach flu and out of of us were ill I called the Inn within hours to let them know that we would not be able to make it the following night I had read their cancellation policy briefly when we made our reservation and it said something about canceling within days I did not expect to receive a refund for this night However, I was hoping that they would allow us to come back on any other given night (weekday included or even of their choice!) to allow us to use our night They charged us the full amount of our room $plus some other random fees The Inn has $of our money and will not allow to come any other time to use this money or to put it towards another night I find this policy absolutely heartless and very bad business The owner said that I should have called within the day period I asked if she has ever known days ahead of time that she will be getting sick? She said even if I had called days ahead of time...again, I had no idea that we would all be suffering from a very bad bug I've called times now to try to work out any sort of resolution with themI am heart broken that they will not honor another stay for us without us paying for another room This last call, I spoke with the owner, Julee, who was the rudest business owner I have ever dealt with She was shouting at me and totally confrontationalNeedless to say, I just wanted to warn other couples with children, that you should not bother booking a room here unless you can guarantee that you will not have a last minute emergency Not only are the Inn keepers and owners rude but they are also terrible business peopleVery very disappointing

It just so happened that we caught the stomach flu and 6 out of 7 of us were ill. I called the Inn within 24 hours to let them know that we would not be able to make it the following night. I had read their cancellation policy briefly when we made our reservation and it said something about canceling within 15 days. I did not expect to receive a refund for this night. However, I was hoping that they would allow us to come back on any other given night (weekday included or even of their choice!) to allow us to use our night. They charged us the full amount of our room $259 plus some other random fees. The Inn has $312 of our money and will not allow to come any other time to use this money or to put it towards another night. I find this policy absolutely heartless and very bad business. The owner said that I should have called within the 15 day period. I asked if she has ever known 15 days ahead of time that she will be getting sick? She said even if I had called 12 days ahead of time...again, I had no idea that we would all be suffering from a very bad bug.
