We did do the roof for the complainant in May of In Fall of I received a call stating they noticed water coming in the houseI called the homeowner back to set an aptto come check it outWith their busy schedule it was hard to find a time to come out and meet with themWe came over
to inspect the roof based on the information we were given by the home owner over the phone as to where the leak was coming fromAfter inspection we could not see where the water was coming fromI did notice that the window above the area that the homeowner said was leaking, was very oldDue to my many years of experiance, I thought that the window could have been the problem, in addition the leak could have possibly been coming from the sidingI called the homeowner to explain what I found and recommended that they call a window companyThe next call I received from the homeowner was that he was told by another construction company that they thought the leak was coming from the roofAt this point it is late fall/winter timeI told him I would send my guys out to take another lookThey meet with the homeowner to show them where the leak was coming from on the insideThey were told by the homeowner that one of small stains on the ceiling may have been there before we did the roof because he had not seem any water coming through that areaI explained again I didn't see anything wrong but to ensure the customer was happy I told him we would come out in the spring to rip out those shingles and replace them with new one'sIt was too cold to do that as the shingles would not properly sealSo my guys temporarily caulked the walls and around the old window to try to prevent leakage through the winterWe told the homeowners we would be back in spring to rip out the shingles in the area in question just to ensure that it was not coming from the roofIn the spring we called the homeowner to let them know we would be there on Saturday(May 7th or 14th) to do the repairLetting the homeowner know that the crew had a lot on their schedule that day but it would most likely be around noonThey arrived a little after 2pmThey were there for over hoursThey ripped out the shingles above the area in question and reshingles that area, inspecting what was underneathThey did not find evidence that there was a problemThe area in the front of the house with the possibly old water spot on the ceiling was inspected but no evidence of water coming into the houseAssuming the small stain was from before we did the house we did not feel it necessary to tear it offThat area was caulkedThe homeowner did state that he wanted picturesI did take them, however with my crazy schedule forgot to send them to himA week or two later I received the complaint from the Revdex.com and instantly remember I did not send him the picturesI sent them to him right awayThat part was my mistakeWe did what we needed to do to ensure the leak is not coming from the roofHopefully the window issue is resolved as well with the caulk we used to seal itI have called the homeowner, text, sent pictures, and left a voice mail and he is not responding. ***'s Top Notch Construction takes pride in their workmanshipWe have gone back to home's well past any given warrantee because I believe that is how you stay in businessI have thousands of satisfied customersI don't like that the homeowner isn't happyOur goal is to ensure 100% homeowner satisfaction
