Widget Financial Reviews (%countItem)

My family has been involved with Widget since they opened. Someone stole 319 dollars out of my account while I was on vacation 4/12/208. I checked my account and saw a pending unauthorized notification on 4/12/2018. I called Widget to tell them. Widget me they could not do anything to stop the fraudulent activity. Widget told me that they would not block the transaction and to call back on Monday. Monday I called and told they will investigate.
No one called me. They eventually said they would refund the money and they did. two months later Widget sent me a letter saying they asked me for more info (which they didn't and because they didn't get a answer within 3 business days, they were going back into my account and take out $319 literally stealing my own money from me. I feel financially unprotected from this bank/credit union. Instead of them backing me me whose been there customer for at least 30 years. They have decided to let a stranger go into my account and take my money and treat me like I,m a criminal. Please dont allow others to be victimize.

To whom it may concern:

As a locally-owned financial cooperative, Widget Financial values service to every consumer as our number one priority. We make every effort to treat individuals with the care and concern befitting of them being a part-owner in our credit union.

We would like to respond relative to complaint number ***, submitted to the Revdex.com on 06/27/2018.

Our records indicate that on 5/10/18 the consumer submitted to us a dispute form alleging that a $319.97 purchase from WalMart.com completed on 4/12/2018 was not authorized by her, nor anyone authorized by her to use the card. On 5/24/18,10 business days later, a temporary credit was issued to the consumer's account, and a letter was sent advising that the temporary credit had been applied while her claim was investigated further, as well as that the full investigation may take up to 60 days to complete. On 6/5/18, upon receiving documentation from WalMart showing that the purchase in question was for an iPhone which was shipped via USPS to the consumer at the address of record, a package was sent to the consumer containing the merchant documentation and a letter advising that the merchant had submitted compelling evidence in relation to the charge in question, and that in order to continue contesting the charge, she must submit an attestation refuting the compelling evidence provided by the merchant by 6/18/18 or her case would be closed, decided by the payment network in the merchant's favor and any temporary credit applied would be reversed. A phone call was also made to the consumer at the phone number of record, in an attempt to advise her of the package sent by our dispute resolution team, however, our representatives were unable to make contact with her, nor were they able to leave a voicemail. The consumer did not submit any attestations refuting the merchant's documentation by 6/18/18, nor has she submitted any such attestations after that date. As she did not refute the evidence offered by the merchant, her claim was denied and decided by the payment network in favor of the merchant. A letter stating the outcome of her case was sent to the address of record for the consumer on 6/21/18.

In closing, Widget Financial is a not-for-profit credit cooperative that has been conducting business since the 1930's. We take these types of complaints seriously. We also take positive service seriously. We are saddened that even one person has not enjoyed their experience with our credit union. We do not conduct any of our business except through direct means and always with the best intentions for member-owners.

5/7/18 I tried to pay my car payment at Widget financial on west 26th. I drove through and THE FIRST question I asked was How much do I owe on my car? and she told me $1,900.00 (rounding) I said that's incorrect my car only owes around 1,000.00 (rounding) SO I ASKED AGAIN - What is the amount I owe? and she said 1,900.00 and gave me a number to call because it was still incorrect. The teller would not take my car payment. Since she gave me the number and I was on my way to work I called - I was suppose to receive a call back and in the mean time they tried to repo my car. I said to the guy they wouldn't take my payment so I don't know why you're trying to take my car. The repo guy told me he'd give me a day to figure it out. I'm consistently calling widget waiting to hear why they had my info wrong. The biggest struggle was hearing from them - it literally took all day to call me back as I called multiple times trying to talk. I finally talked to Sharron and explained what happened. THE COMPANY had my insurance wrong. It was faxed over to their business multiple times and I can show proof of that with progressive. So finally they adjusted my total to $1,400.00 (rounding) which was still not correct. The repo man came back and said he was taking it anyways and the bank told him I said to just pick it up. This is a lie. I was doing everything I could to pay my bill and they wouldn't let me. Sharon specifically lied to the repo guy, said I told them to take my car????, didn't get back to me, and still wouldn't edit the incorrect amount. They finally told me they wanted me to pay my negative checking off too. (-400.00) so that's where the 1,400.00 total came from. YOU CANT REPO A CAR if the bill is paid. I tried to pay my bill they wouldn't let me. my checking has nothing to do with my car loan and I had to leave my job early just so they wouldn't take my car. I sat in the bank and fought with Sue the branch manager who in the end ended up being the only one to help or care. Sue was just given orders by Sharon and Debbie in the main office. If Sue would have understood the issue in the first place it could have been fixed but since the employees all talk to each other she was going off of wrong information. Sharon was simply taking it out on us and not listening I can't even begin to explain how bullied I feel from Sharon. Banks have hardship options for a reason. You are allowed to over draft your account for a reason. I paid the fee I'm allowed to over draft and deposits were being made in my other accounts to show I was catching it up. I had an 800 + credit score and over paid my bills for many years with widget. The one second I have a hard ship they close my accounts and try to repo my car? Even though I had cash in my hands multiple times to pay my car loan... I need a resolution.

We would like to respond relative to complaint number ***, submitted to the Revdex.com on 05/17/2018. Our response is primarily that we disagree with the complaint because the consumer is stating their vehicle financed with Widget Financial should not have been ordered for repossession. We had incorrect vehicle insurance information, and we refused payment on their vehicle loan. However,Widget Financial made a good faith attempt to collect from the consumer, updated vehicle insurance information and funds to bring delinquent accounts current. As of 05/07/2018, the consumer was delinquent 36 days on her vehicle loan (due 04/01/2018), 65 days on her unsecured installment loan (due 03/02/2018), and 67 days on her share account Widget Financial sent delinquency letters on 03/13/2018,03/23/2018, 04/12/2018,04/22/2018 and a notice of repossession letter on 04/20/2018 instructing her to contact Widget by 04/27/2018 or Widget Financial would take further action on 04/30/2018. Additionally, phone messages were left for this individual on 03/20/2018,03/29/2018, and an attempt on 03/23/2018 but the voice mailbox was full. A Widget Financial representative was able to connect on four calls with either the individual or the joint owner of the share account:03/27/2018 - the joint account owner answered the call but quickly disconnected, and when the Widget Financial representative called back a voice message was left.04/02/2018 - the joint account owner answered, provided the phone number for the consumer and quickly disconnected the call.04/05/2018 - consumer answered and was made aware that Widget did not have current proof of insurance for the vehicle and she would have her insurance company fax over proof of coverage. She also stated she gets paid on 04/10/2018.04/19/2018 - consumer answered the call. The Widget Financial representative informed her how she was delinquent on two loans and her share account. The representative also stated we still needed proof of insurance, and how Widget could take action with repossessing the vehicle based on cross collateralization clauses. The individual mentioned they were going through a hardship but would get paid on 04/24/2018.Aside from delinquency notices, she was notified that Widget Financial did not receive proof of insurance on the vehicle. Her previous policy ended on 12/29/2017 and we did not receive proof of current insurance from her or the previous insurance provider. Letters were mailed to her on 01/15/2018 and 02/12/2018 informing her we required proof of insurance or Widget Financial would add force-placed insurance onto the vehicle resulting in an increased monthly loan payment. Force-placed insurance was added on 03/28/2018. She was also notified of our request to redeem proof of insurance during the calls on 04/05/2018 and 04/19/2018, Widget Financial received proof of coverage from the new insurance provider on 04/24/2018. A full refund was granted for the added force-placed insurance once the current insurance provider was contacted and cancellation process was complete on 05/07/2018.On morning of 05/07/2018; Widget Financial received notification from the repossession c S:45 AM stating they found the vehicle but they could not repossess due to outdated VIN information on their report. The consumer spoke with the repossessor stating she was going to make a payment that day. Around 10:30 AM, she stopped at a Widget Financial drive-thru requesting to make a payment to stop the repossession orders. She was informed she could make a one monthly payment on the vehicle loan, but in order to stop repossession orders she wouid have to make a payment of $1,847.79. The payment of $1,847.79 included two months of past due vehicle loan payments with added force-placed insurance, three months of past due payments for the unsecured installment loan, the charged-off balance on the share account, and $50.00 for cancelling repossession orders. She was displeased with the amount owed and when the teller requested her to come into the branch to review with the branch manager, they declined and wanted a call that day to review the amounts she owed to stop the repossession orderThe force-placed insurance refund and cancellation was completed at 12:30 PM adjusting the vehicle loan payment back to the original amount. Widget Financial called the consumer at 12:47 PM to discuss the updated amount owed of $1,466.83 in order to cancel repossession orders. The consumer felt they did not have to pay on the other accounts and requested paperwork showing cross-collateralization clauses on accounts. This information was mailed out to her shortly after the call. At 3:30 PM, Widget Financial received notification from the repossession company that the vehicle was found and ready to be repossessed when a woman ran out and drove the unit off the lift.Around 4:30 PM, she visited a Widget Financial branch and spoke with the branch manager regarding her dispute to pay the amount of $1,466.83 to cancel the repossession orders. She ultimately paid the amount requested to bring the two loans current, pay the repossession cancellation fee and pay the charged-off share balance. The repossession order was cancelled after the payments were applied. She requested proof of payment to the repossession company and payment to the collection company which were both provided to her on 05/08/2018.By way of settlement, this consumer is requesting to have the repossession off of her credit. The repossession orders were cancelled so this will not be reflected on her credit. She's requesting her closed share account not to be in collections. The share account was charged-off after 47 days of delinquency, but was paid In full on 05/07/2018 and will not report as an open collection, but will be reported as a charged off paid in full. She has also requested a refund of the repossession cancellation fee and compensation of her wages for taking off work. This is not a reasonable request on account of the fact that there is a precedent showing lack of response to our written letters and broken promises to make payments by this individual. Furthermore, her address was verified on her account on 02/26/2018 indicating the.letters were being sent to her current address. She is stating we lied to her about the amount owed since she was carrying vehicle insurance, but this accusation is false as she received letters indicating we did not have proof of current insurance and the force-placed insurance was added to the loan. The delinquency balances were reflected on the repossession letter sent on 04/20/2018 and on her monthly account statements. In closing, Widget Financial is a not-for-profit credit cooperative that has been conducting business since the 1930's. We take these types of complaints seriously. We also take positive service seriously. We are saddened that even one person has not enjoyed their experience with our credit union. they placed a charge off on my credit report. I was never notified by mail regarding a balance of $6 that was owed on my account. I only found out from a credit alert. once I found out I sent in the money to pay the balance. a mail notification would have been the proper channel to collect the money. Terrible sneaky thing to do.

As a locally-owned financial cooperative, Widget Financial values service to every consumer as our number one priority. We make every effort to treat individuals with the care and concern befitting of them being a part-owner in our credit union. We would like to respond relative to complaint number ***, submitted to the Revdex.com on 05/04/2018. Our response is primarily that we disagree with the complaint because the consumer is stating that she never was notified by mail relative to an outstanding balance. However, Widget Financial did, in fact, send letters on 01/27/2018,02/06/2018 and again on 02/16/2018. Additionally, phone messages were left for this individual on 02/01/2018,02/09/2018 and 02/21/2018.Our records indicate that outstanding balances were paid on 04/18/2018. On 05/05/2018, prior to our receiving this complaint through the Revdex.com, a dispute was received by Widget Financial via the eOscar system. At that time, as a courtesy to this individual, we deleted the record from all three credit bureaus.By way of settlement, this consumer has asked to have the credit bureaus notified. We have done thatShe has also requested to be notified by mail and with "credit reports mailed" to her, demonstrating that this was accomplished. This is not a reasonable request on account of the fact that there is a precedent showing lack of response to our written letters by this individual. Furthermore, credit reports may not be generated and mailed directly to a consumer in the manner requested. However, she has mentioned being part of a credit monitoring {"credit alert") service. Our deletion of her record(s) will no doubt be evident to this person through such a service. In closing, Widget Financial is a not-for-profit credit cooperative that has been conducting business since the 1930's. We take these types of complaints seriously. We also take positive service seriously. We are saddened that even one person has not enjoyed their experience with our credit union.
