To Whom it May Concern,
We are responding to Revdex.com Case #[redacted] received on 11/30/2015.
The Customer who originally filed the case (Ms. [redacted]) was not our customer, her mother was. Her mother came into the store and purchased a "display" wig on 11/28/2015.  A display wig is a wig that has been already opened from its original packaging, styled and hand made by our employees, and put on top of a mannequin for display purposes.  These wigs are discounted from its original price and sold "as is" because due to the nature of the product and how it potentially can be styled, it cannot be sold in the original condition.  New wigs in packaging are sold alongside the display product at the full retail price.
When the customer's mother purchased the display wig, she had the knowledge that this wig was already opened and styled as it was pulled off a mannequin for her to purchase.  Wigs that are styled and put on a mannequin does tend to have loose caps as it was used to fit the mannequin.  She was made aware that this item was "as is" and had no complaints or problems purchasing this item.
The customer's mother returned to our store on Sunday, 11/29/2015 and asked for a refund or a brand new wig still in its packaging.  She claimed that inside of the wig was loose and which it was because it was used to style the mannequin.  The whole point of an "as is" item and the reason that we do sell it a discounted price is due to the fact that it is "used" on the mannequin.
Our store policy clearly states in multiple places (store receipt, various signs within the store), that any wigs purchased cannot be returned or refunded.  Our store policy is very strict on no exchanges or returns on ponytails, dome pieces, or wigs because of hygiene and sanitary reasons.  Once the product leaves the store, we cannot accept returns or exchanges as it is no longer safe to our other customers.  The customer's mother was told repeatedly by our employees and even the manager.  As mentioned, it is also written on the receipt and written in several places inside the business.
As a way to satisfy our customer, one of my employees who is also professional wig stylist had agreed to fix the loose ends for the customer free of charge.  The customer's mother refused that option and has only asked for a brand new wig, which is not the product she paid for when she purchased an "as is" item.
We are saddened to hear of the complaint, but we are writing to explain our store policy and the nature of the original purchase that she had made.
Thank you,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. As stated in my previous letter, I am the customer daughter. I am not satisfied with the response received by the business.  I discussed the findings with my mother and my mother can't believe how dishonest this business is. The wig that was purchased did not have a as is tag on it. My mom stated when she went back in the store the next day the ladies at the cash register, stated to her no refunds. This was not told to her the date of the purchase. Now on to my next statement. When my mother came into the store to exchange the wig she was going to get something at a equal or lesser value. She knew she couldn't get a brand new wig, that's common sense. One of the statements made by the representative in the letter is they can't exchange wigs due to sanitary issues. In this case there is no sanitary issues because my mother never had the opportunity to wear the wig. Also stated by the representative is that the store receipt has the no refund/no exchange policy, no it doesn't. (Please see attachment). My mother also stated to the young lady on the following day when she went to exchange the wig "If you fix it, is there a chance the cap can come back off" The employee stated yes it will. At this point my mother stated no this is exactly why I want to exchange it. The employee repeatedly said no. My mother returned home and explained to me the outcome and I stated to her no we are not giving in to this business dishonesty. Last but not least. This business has the wig and my mother money. My mother don't have anything. At this point as stated in my previous letter my mother family and friends will never do business at this store again.  To end my response I will say, whatever the outcome is of this situation,I will make sure I have an law enforcement officer escort myself and my mother in and out of the business. I don't trust anything this business do or says. Thanks
Regards,
[redacted]
