Rude and condescending dentist
I admit that I do not go to the dentist as much as I should mostly because I have not had good experience especially at Willamette dental in Bend Oregon. They always seem to make what should be one appointment into three. Today however I had an emergency appointment for broken tooth they decided to ignore my broken tooth and give me a cleaning and then told me there was not enough time to address the broken tooth and I would have to come back in 7-weeks. It was then I was given a loud lecture in the office by the dentist about how I should be brushing and was done is such a way that was meant to rude. I confronted that dentist on the fact that I had made this appointment to address the broken tooth and she stated that it was going to be too hard, and she was at the in the end of the day and that I should have made it earlier. I asked her when and she said that she said, " I am not scheduling" So now I have broken tooth that they want me to wait 7-weeks. I will say that they dental hygienist were very sweet, and I think embarrassed as to how this dentist acted.

I went in for an office visit last year and paid at the time of service. I had a tooth pulled using local anesthetic and my insurance covered it. They have inexplicably been taking $60 out of my account automatically which I never authorized. Never received and billing statement from this office and was not aware they were taking this money since July of last year. Now over $700 has been stolen from me and lone can seem to tell me why.

All the dentists at Willamette Dental have lied, or incompetently misdiagnosed the nature of the decay on my teeth. Both teeth I was told were not an issue. One had a "stain" on it and the other had a "little crack" in the composite filling that the dentist filled. Both teeth now have needed root canals. If the dentist would have filled the tooth with the "stain" I INSISTED was a cavity I would not be shelling out 2k in dental work at ANOTHER provider.
Also, I have three teeth with dark spots on the other side of my mouth that the incompetent Willamette Dental dentist told me were "stains" all of which are actual cavities. This entire company is a RACKET. They make you schedule several separate appointments so they can milk self paying premium members.

Had scheduled a date to get teeth cleaning x-rays etc. On morning of appointment, less than a half hour before appointment, was called and informed that appointment had been canceled. Went in in-person to reschedule. They told me that "my" hygienist was the one who had canceled. Asked if we could do partial appointment i.e., x-rays at least to make sure no damage at least as wisdom teeth haven't been removed. They refused. Asked if I scould just see another hygenist. Again, they refused. Asked when next time my hygenist was available. They said it was some Saturday in October as he'd requested September off. Asked if he couldn't just come in on another Saturday as this was a breach in contract in that they'd promised to be available and not given fair time. They refused. Asked if they could at least give me a discount or refer me to another nearby dental location. Again they refused.

I chose willamette dental to be my Insurance through my job. I am not a fan of dentists, but who is. I reluctantly went and shared my fears and they assured me everything would be fine. It hurt incredibly bad to get my teeth cleaned, but I was assured that was normal. ( for a reference, it had been 4 years since my last cleaning so not great but not a lifetime).
My cleaning was in March and it’s not July and I spent all that time in between with severe gum bleeding ( just casually driving, and a mouth full of blood, NOT just from hard brushing) and severely infected gums. I thought, it can’t be gingivitis because I was JUST at the dentist , so it must have actually been what happened AT the dentist.
They dental assistant and dentist were kind, but the cleaning was brutal and something clearly happened because my mouth was severely infected , painful and bleeding constantly for months. The only thing that has helped is garggling with salt water every night. But it’s still not cured yet. Don’t go here, I just don’t trust them at all.

I had teeth extracted and they are over charging me for it. They pulled all my teeth but last one normally. When they got to that second to last one, they realized how much bone came out with it that they stopped and stared at each other for a few. I asked whats up and we had a conversation about how much bone came out with it. To which followed the conversation about how they would be cautious with the last tooth and use a special tool along with predrilling to prevent bone loss. Asked if I was om with it and I said sure. When it was all done and I went to pay my bill, they charged me for 3 surgical extractions (predilling and tool use are things that are invilved with that) and yet they had only asked me about the one before doing it and only AFTER they realized how much bone was coming off with the teeth being pulled...

When talking with the manager, she stared that she has to gonwith what the dr said she did. I get it. She put downthat she surgically pulled the to cover her butt, but I should not have to pay for her mistakes any more than the already excessive bone loss from the extractions.

In November we went to Willamette Dental in Federal Way for looking into getting dentures. Today, March 25th I still do not have dentures that work.
I cannot eat and they slip even with adhesive. I have been told repeatedly it is a process. I believe 5 months to get dentures and still not have them work right is beyond a process. Each time we are billed co-pays for adjustments and told to keep coming back for adjustments. I was even told that I have to eat evenly on both sides at the same time and that the front are not for biting, just looks.
I have known and know several people who have had to get dentures and never had they gone thru all this, nor have they had any problems.
One was a doctor who could not believe how long it has been.
I need to gain weight and it has been impossible without teeth and will cause health issues. The dentures do not even look right.
I thank you for your time and wish nobody else to have to go thru this. We are told at this point they will look into a refund but would take another 30 days for that judgement call.
In the meantime we are out over $1000.00 and have no teeth that work or look right.

I picked Willamette Dental as my Dental Insurance through PEBB. I began a Full-Restoration plan after a April 2017 Appointment in Salem. I had Consultation about the restoration work over the summer. The teeth removal began in Sept 2017 and the implants were in by February 2018. At every appointment (about 8) I had, I was told 5 months after the implants were put in I would get my final teeth (dentures). That means in August of 2018 I should have completed the process. I paid around $17,000 out of pocket during this time.
It is now the end of March 2019. I don't have my teeth, I don't have an appointment. I don't even have a dentist to make an appointment with. I haven't
chewed food in 468 days, and I've been without any teeth for 13 months. The Tigard Specialty office charges for work they can't perform in the time they claim. In my case they charge for work they can't complete. I was put on "a list" in January of 2019 with no firm time frame for completion.

After waiting for weeks to get an appointment to receive my denture, I phoned Willamette Dental in Springfield, Oregon. Iwas told that I missed my appointment. When I remarked that I had no knowledge of any appointment, I was told that they had sent an email. I never saw any email. I never received a phone call. If they called, they certainly never reached me. I do have problems with my phone, so they should have contacted me directly. If they left me a voice message, I have not received it, and I do not understand how an appointment can me made without my knowledge, nor confirmed without someone talking to me about it. They made me wait over an additional month to set an appointment to get my teeth. The denture rocks from side to side, and I don't trust this office to fix the fit. Now today I got a bill for $30 for the missed "appointment". I think these charges should, at the very least, be reversed. As to the ill-fitting denture, not sure what to do.

Last Spring I went to the Willamette Dental on Sleater Kinney Rd. in Olympia WA to have a filling that had fallen out replaced. I specifically asked the dentist and assistant who were doing the work what the cost would be and was told that it would be $200. The missing filling was on the outside of one of my upper teeth and clearly visible. It was not between teeth or on the back side of a tooth.
When I went to the reception desk to pay my bill, I was told that the cost was $300. When I asked about the difference in price, I was told that the extra $100 was for an examination of the surrounding area. I do not believe that this examination was necessary given the placement of the filling nor do I think it was even done.
I refused to pay the additional $100, later met with the practice manager, Patrick, who told me that "the charge will stand". He was very abrupt and condescending to me.
I still have not paid the additional $100. I believe that this Willamette office engages in deceptive business practices and also is gouging its customers with unnecessary fees.

doctors is ok, but their billing system is scam, went there together with wife, alter got bill more than 2000 $ even when they was told me that I need pay only copay about 300 that all, they misinform mu just to suck in, and make me liable pay for their service, after long negotiation and communication with insurance they they bring cost down for few hundred, but still I own for this mafia more than 1000 they knew my insurance is out of network. I feel been rip off, since have 3 kids, and below poverty level, get minimum surviving wages, so now no Christmas for my adorable 3 kids and non working wife, and also no turkey on Thanksgiving, will need collect money to give them.

please respond to my complain that I not agree with solution since they not give me any solution, beside pay I feel that I was mislead in statement just to make me pay for them, the left over balance is very high, was not in my expectation, I feel broke, and riped off. Tjey was call to insurance before give me service, why they hide this cost up front?

I have been trying to get a tooth fixed since June, I have been to the dentist twice and all they did were temporaries, when that failed one day later they refused to see me until 3 weeks later. This is after I tried to get some antibiotics, no call back. Tried to get an appointment with a specialist no call back. Tooth now hanging from the gum after the root canal pack has come out. Soo I have been unable to eat for almost 2 weeks and today I go to the appointment, but I am late because I have to dismiss my students and I am told they can't see me, I have to reschedule. This is after changing offices to see if the service would be better but it is still the same. If you want a dentist that only cares about billing your insurance then go with Willamette. Also, I tried the emergency dentist told him about my pain and the possibility of infection he refused me service. I would give no stars but the system won't let me.

Hi *** - We're very sorry to hear you haven't been happy with your experience with us. It's our understanding that you have already communicated your concerns to our Member Services Department. We'll be reaching out to you soon with more information.

My wife has a broken tooth that she has an appointment to get extracted on the 23rd of August. On the 19th, Sun, it started causing her extreme pain. She called on the 20th, Mon to see about getting emergency dental services and was told that her appointment on the 23rd was the earliest available. I called this morning the 21st, to see about getting emergency dental services, and was told the Tumwater, WA office could see her for an extraction today at 1110 PDT. Upon arriving for my wife's appointment, she was told there was going to be no extraction until the 23rd, and they wanted to see about antibiotics or pain meds. I was perfectly clear about requesting an appointment for an emergency tooth extraction. I confirmed with your staff that a consultation would not be sufficient. Yet, a consultation was given and her extraction is still well past the 48 hour mark. This is not what I requested and is in no way shape of form even remotely acceptable. I understand that appointments take time, and I agree that first come should be first serve. What I don't understand is the need for deceit, and the lack of a capacity to accommodate dental emergencies. Surely there is a policy for accommodating emergencies (can she have my appointment time for today? Could she go to another facility? I would drive her to Bend *** Oregon if that is what it took to provide her relief), or at the very least a policy for not lying? Surely you have that. My problem is that my wife is in excruciating pain, and the people who we are paying to take care of it are bold faced lying to us and ignoring us. My problem is I don't know what I'm paying you for, and I don't know why you’re an accepted dental insurance at my employer.

Nice people, but TERRIBLE communication between offices and with patients about care plans and TERRIBLE scheduling practices.

I am insured through Northwest Laborers-Employers Health and Security Trust. Their site is providing a Form 1095B that proves that, as well as listing all forms of current coverage that apply, which includes dental. I did fill out a survey with some criticism of Willamette Corporate's lack of professionalism and am wondering if Willamette is being petty and even more unprofessional since they're now claiming I'm not covered, even though I'm looking at verification that I am and also confirmed with the plan administrator this morning.

Willamette Dental Group Response

Prior to receiving the complaint you forwarded on August 9, 2017, we received notice that similar concerns were brought to the attention of the Washington State Office of Insurance Commissioner (WAOIC). We have addressed the matter and responded directly to the WAOIC. It is our understanding that they will facilitate follow-up communication with the Mrs..

They did not even attempt to bill my insurance and are claiming that I'm responsible for the full amount. This, even after I submitted proof of coverage and verified with my employer/health administrator. Willamette Dental is a horribly unprofessional and dishonest company. I did have a complaint about one of their corporate policies (information gathering) and am wondering if they're not incredibly petty/retaliating rather than incompetent.
