2018 *** ** ***Consumer Complaint AnalystConsumer Protection DivisionAttorney General of WashingtonFifth Ave., Suite 2000Seattle, WA 98104-3188 Dear *** ** ***, Willard’s Pest Control did service the house at *** ** *** *** *** ** *** on February 13, 2017for an odorous house ant problemIt was a onetime service but it was explained to the customer as it is with all of our odorous house ant calls that one time services may not workThey understood thatAt the time our technician was on site the customer asked him to place a rodent bait stationHe did soThe ***’s were charged $plus tax for the service, which was reduced from the phone quote of $140-$They were emailed an invoice/statement on 3/2/The bill was never paidThe next call was from the Cosetto’s saying the service didn’t work and to cancel the bait station serviceThey were sent a service agreement on 2/13/and a revised one on 4/12/Additional statements were sent on 6/2/17,9/18/17,12/6/17,1/5/and 1/19/Repeated attempts were made via phone call and emails to collect this moneyThe ***’s were told the debt was going to be sent to a collection agency if not paid by a certain dateThey said if we do that they will go to the Revdex.com, Attorney General’s Office and social mediaSo here we are. Willard’s Pest Control has tried in good faith to collect this bill many timesWe have asked for proof the bill was paid but have not received any and we have been told by the ***’s they never received any statement or invoiceClearly we have sent many invoicesAdditionally the ***’s understood the nature of a onetime service for odorous house antsThey did not call back to ask if we could retreat or the ants were still an issueThey just cancelled the rodent service and have refused to pay the billWe have not been rude or harassing by any means we are simply attempting to collect a bill that is justified and the customer is refusing to pay. reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and find that this resolution is not at all satisfactory to me
I called this pest control service and explained to them on the telephone that a previous pest control service had been to my property, and had told me that they could not guarantee their work because of the nature of my specific house. I was hoping to get pest control, and I wanted to know my options. THE PERSON ON THE PHONE SPECIFICALLY TOLD ME THAT THEY TYPICALLY CHARGE FOR HOME VISITS, BUT THAT, DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE CALL, THERE WOULD BE NO CHARGE FOR THE ESTIMATE. I appreciate that these services cost money, and I WAS SPECIFICALLY TOLD THERE WOULD BE NO CHARGE. Have you spoken to the person who answers your phones? You need to stand by what your employees tell your customers. What kind of integrity does it demonstrate by going back on this SPECIFIC offer made by your company?!?!
