William C Truesdale, DVM, PC Reviews (2)

I was taking my puppy German Shepherd to Central Ave. Veterinarian clinic up until he turn 5 years and a half and had never had any health issues when he was yearly tested and given a full exam...My dog never tested positive for Lyme and was always up to date on shots however after a visit back in December 2018 he was given a cocktail of shots (William Truesdale's exact words used to me) when he combined several shots in one single injection.

After that visit my dog who was 118Lbs began to loose weight during the following months in February and March and dropped 25 Lbs and started throwing up food...One of his eyes began to swollen and I called them and they said over the phone just give him terimisin for his eye infection which I did and after two tubes his eyes improved.

He continued to hot hold his food down and I made an appointment to see William Truesdale the veterinarian who checked him out. He took blood, stool sample was brought back and nothing came up according to William Truesdale the veterinarian.

Then he suggested doing an X-ray which he said might show if maybe my dog has cancer...We payed in advance and the X-ray showed NO signs of Cancer in my dog.

Then William Truesdale the veterinarian has one of his waitress at the desk tell me to bring in a urine sample...I travel from North Smithfield to his practice which takes me over 40 minutes one way because of Pawtucket's lousy congested roads...I brought back a Urine sample and the next day I get a call saying that there was nothing unusual…

My dog was given antibiotics to take on a Thursday and he seem to feel better Friday however by Sunday he was puking up worse than ever and couldn't hold his food down...I brought him to Ocean State Veterinarian clinic on that Sunday and the vet was skidish about treating my dog...She was afraid of his size and only took his temperature which was slightly elevated and she said he looked fine...They charged me $300. to take his temp in his buttocks and didn't help me figure out what was wrong with my dog...

On that Monday I called William Truesdale the veterinarian and explained to them what happen with my dog...They said bring him in and my wife and I both went together. He ran more test and asked me to get Urine from my dog so he can test again...

The test came back crystals in the urine which is Kidney issues...For a dog not even 6 years old I was dumbfounded and wanted answers. The only excuse I got from the vet was someone must have poison my dog and he said there was a 30% chance of saving him but it was expensive, it cost me $1700. up front to have them inject fluids into my dog to restart his failing kidneys.

My dog was scheduled for five visits and I had to drop him off in the morning and pick him up at 5:00 pm...The visits went like this, he was heavily sedated and groggy when I picked him up after the first visit. He was high as a kite and seem to be feeling no pain but when he barked at me he sounded like there was fluids in his lungs...I took him back for two more treatments and he got worse and became almost lethargic after getting him home on the third day after he puked in my vehicle and all over inside the house...I took video of it and saved it but it's terrible to watch. My dog was worst off than before he started and I was charged $1700. for this type of treatment that William Truesdale the veterinarian said would help my dog, he lied and took my money and probably knew my dog was a goner and just wanted to milk me more...The previous visits totaled over $600.

After the third treatment I decided to euthanize my dog who was beyond help...I was devastated that William Truesdale the veterinarian didn't offer to refund me any of the $1700. I prepaid for five treatments and he had the audacity to charge me $60. to euthanize my dog.

I bought my dog from a local breeder Lee Parker kennels who is a friend of William Truesdale and takes large groups of puppies to him for their first shots...He no doubt has a nice deal worked out with Lee Parker and probably charges group rates with a discount...

I asked William Truesdale the veterinarian if by chance any other dogs ever brought in coming from Lee Parker had Kidney issues and he couldn't look me in the eye when he said, no that I was the first...He then insisted that my dog must have been given a spiked meatball of poison...I beg to differ and believed that maybe over breeding by Lee Parker kennel had more to do with the abnormality in my dog's health.

He was a young healthy dog with tons of energy till he was two years of age then began slowing down on walks at the park...He was checked out every year by William Truesdale the veterinarian and given a clean bill of health and yet mysteriously he suffers kidney failure before age 6.

I called Lee Parker and spoke to her after this had happen and at first she didn't remember who I was but I managed to refresh her memory and she seem to be unsympathetic about my dog's condition and said to me, her words used, "the best thing I can do for the dog is euthanize him" she then said to give her a call later after it's been done.

I swear to God this is what happen and I believe William Truesdale the veterinarian covered for this person because he charged group rates for puppy shots...

My dog is gone and I would never recommend William Truesdale the veterinarian to treat any animal. The shots cause the problems and then they pretend to know how to cure the damage caused by what they've done.

Incidentally Lee Parker's male dog who she used to breed and was one of the puppies I bought was only two years of age at the time I met her and seen both parents on her property both male and female kept in separate cages...

The male was under the heading PAST BOY's on her website so that means the male didn't live long after mating with the female that born the litter of puppies that I ended up buying one out of the seven she had and was selling for $1300. each.

to be euthanized after being treated by William Truesdale the veterinarian

This complaint is in regards to the unauthorized use of my credit card and overcharge by the staff at Central Ave Veterinarian Clinic in Mass. Their client [redacted] RI [redacted]) scheduled a fresh semen collection for his dog YOYO Wednesday (Sept 18th) which was to be collected and shipped to me. Like in most all breedings the bh owner pays for the collection/shipping. I had called and spoken to [redacted] at Central Vet the day before to provide her with my credit card to pay for this service. [redacted] was exceptional on the phone, very professional, friendly and had read back all my information with precision. On the day of the collection I received a phone call from a very distraught [redacted] telling me that the fresh chilled was not good but he would send me frozen. He told me that I needed to call Central Vet immediately to approve the tank (special tank used to ship frozen semen) fee security deposit etc. He said that per Central Ave Vet it was only going to cost $260 after it was all said and done. So I called and spoke with [redacted] again who informed me that she needed authorization to charge my card $960.00. I was floored when I heard NINE HUNDRED dollars and was immediately ready to say no way. [redacted] went on to explain that I would get it all back but $260 as soon as the tank was returned. I ask her to repeat it all again and to assure me that I was going to get it back right away as I have bills to pay at the end of the month with those funds. I also ask her to confirm that it was only going to cost me $260 and she chuckled and stated yes I just need your approval to charge the $960 to your card. There was NEVER ANY MENTION of additional charges (above and beyond the ridiculous charge of $960) being placed on my card for the shipping and return shipping of the tank NOR did I give ANYONE the authorization to do so!!! I would have said NO to it all because I could not afford it. When I discovered the charges from Federal express on Wednesday the 24th, I immediately contacted Central Vet and asked to speak to [redacted]. The young lady said that [redacted] was at lunch. I explained my issues to a not so understanding individual which made matters even worst. She stated that I would get the $500 back as soon as the tank was returned but, the other $200 would be held for several weeks and that the Federal Express charges were not included in the $260!! I told her that this was not acceptable and I never gave [redacted] permission to use my card for anything other than the $960!! She took a message and said she would have [redacted] call me.. I never received a call. "Unauthorized use of a credit card" is illegal in any state. The total amount charged on my card to date by Central Ave Veterinary Clinic was as follows:$960.00 - approved charge$167.70 shipping of tank - Not authorized$67.29 return shipping tank- Not authorizedWhen I contacted the Clinic's client [redacted] by email he acknowledged that Central Vet did indeed tell him the same information that the amount due was only going to be $260.00.The tank was returned on the 26th of September and they posted a refund of $500 back to my card. I am filing a complaint for the immediate refund for the remaining balance of $434.99 (234.99 unapproved charges + $200.00 balance of refund)
