To whom it may concern:While we are sympathetic to vehicle problems, we have done a full investigation and do not feel we are responsible for the apparent damage to the ignition in any wayOur operator, who has over years of experience in towing, loading and/or recovering inoperable vehicles,
gave a full statement of what transpired:On the evening of July 15, 2015, I picked up a green *** ***When I arrived the customer said the vehicle had rear brake problemsI then proceeded to get the keys from her to load the vehicleOnce vehicle was loaded I then waited minutes for the customer to gather her belongings and ride with me to the drop off locationOnce we arrived at the drop off location I offloaded the vehicle onto the street and drove up the driveway towards the garage at the customer's requestI did not pull the vehicle into the garage, but I left the keys in the ignition for the customer to pull the vehicle inThe Explorer started fine in Chantilly when the customer gave me the keys, and it started fine when we arrivedNo problems with the ignition were noted whatsoever.Again, while the ignition problem is unfortunate, Road Runner denies any liability for damageThis was a tow and our well trained and experienced driver did nothing wrongThis driver has an impeccable driving record and personnel file, and we fully support his side of the storyWe strive to provide the utmost in customer service and are dedicated to resolving any concerns or complaintsHowever, we can not assume liability for any existing damage, or damage that occurred post-service. Revdex.com:As I mentioned in my complaint and responses, Road Runner was completely uncooperative in the claims process for my damagesI feel sorry for future customers that are involved in a collision/liability claim with one of their trucksIt has been a huge headache for meI had to reach out numerous organizations in order to get Road Runner's insurance information*** Insurance Company insures Road Runner, and I filed a claim through themThey had a claims adjustor come to my house and give an estimateA couple days ago, I received a check from *** in the amount of $for the damages caused by Road Runner's tow truck Road Runner has made every attempt to minimize their involvement and not take responsibility for their actionsI feel this company has immoral business practices to not carry insurance information in their trucks, as well as refuse to give their insurance information to me or my insurance company.I am not accepting this resolution because I agree with their proposed resolutionI am agreeing to this resolution because I have been paid for the damages by their insurance company.I hope that being a consumer advocacy group, that you can help give awareness to any future consumer who may use Road Runner for their servicesThank you. In reference to complaint ID ***

Good Afternoon, Thank you for contacting us. Any matter regarding damage to personal property is taken very seriously, and as such, our Operations Manager and General Manager were both involved in Mr. [redacted]'s complaint. We have extensive notes and photos which document our attempt to...

resolve this matter. While we do not deny that our driver bumped into the bumper with the wheel lift of the truck, causing a small (approximately 3-4") dent, the bumper had significant damage that was there prior to our service being performed.  We are not responsible for the previous damage, and therefore can not be held responsible for replacing the entire bumper as Mr. [redacted] has requested. We have reviewed the estimate that he has provided and feel that a settlement of $200 would more than cover the damage incurred by our equipment. We have made this offer to Mr. [redacted] and he has refused. Asking us to replace the entire bumper is asking our Company to unreasonably be held accountable for damage incurred by someone else. I will extend this offer again in good faith to resolve this claim. We hope for a positive outcome. Lisa B[redacted]Road Runner Wrecker Service, Inc.  [redacted]Sterling, VA 2016724 Hour Dispatch ###-###-####Direct ###-###-####Mobile ###-###-####Fax ###-###-####

Please let me know the year make and model of your vehicle, as well as the date it was towed or released, so that I may look into this further.Sincerely,Lisa B[redacted]

I am sorry Mr [redacted] is not acceptable to our offer. We do take all claims big or small seriously. We are not required to carry insurance info in our trucks and we chose not to. We will need proof that Mr [redacted] is the owner of the car. A copy of the registration or title will be fine. We need to know that we are working with the owner of this car.    Mr [redacted] says he has obtained our insurance info, so I believe that is a non issue at this moment. I am assuming they are denying this claim, as we previously stated we are self insured/have a deductible we pay  for all minor claims. He is wasting additional time going that route.  We want a fair resolution to this claim and do not deny we have liability to the repair. Can it be agreed there was previous damage? The photos we see look as though most was already there. Our offer was from that a small percentage was from us, 25% or less. We are willing to pay half to close this matter after proof of ownership is made. We do want a resolution but having us pay 100% is just unreasonable. Can he please explain why we would pay for other damages we did not do?    If Mr [redacted] will not negotiate or provide further information then we have made our best efforts.
