William Selinski Reviews (4)

The two technicians, Braxton and Bud were excellentThey knew the Mitsubishi system completely that they were installing for usThey were hard workersThey were polite and did and fantastic jobWe couldn't have asked for anything more from themThey cleaned up after themselvesNever leaving any mess behindI can't say enough good things about those two techniciansAnd even the owner, Steve made a trip up just to make sure we were happy with everything that was being installedI can see why they have a A+ rating

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I do not believe they made every reasonable effort to fix the furnace/ fan belt. I have submitted the bills in question. This was a lot of money to pay for the furnace to still not be fixed. Iwas able to obtain the billing documents. I did see where the business has been servicing the equipment. However, at no time did they enter the house where the furnace was placed in the floor. The fan belt was in need of replacing that would keep the system cool and prevent it from shutting off.

I am in receipt of the complaint for customer [redacted]. I would like to again, address the issue of the complaint and our service for her oil furnace. The initial call that was taken on Oct. 5, 2015 stated that the customer had to hit the reset button to get the furnace to light.  It would light momentarily, but would not stay lit.  The service technician changed a nozzle and filter on the furnace.  The unit was working on our departure.  For the parts and the minimum 1 hour labor of $99.50, we collected $119.97.  To date there have been no charges or invoices totaling $500.00. The only monetary amount we have collected was for the Oct. 5, 2015 visit. In looking at the receipts provided from the customer, the receipt totaling $100.70 is dated Oct. 21, 2011.  This is an old receipt for a previous service call.  In the four (4) years between that receipt and the one provided for the 2015 visit, our rates have changed only slightly.  The 2nd call came on Oct. 26, 2015, stating that again, the customer had to hit reset on the unit.   Hitting reset is not indicative of a fan belt issue.  We did not hear from the customer again until this date, so the unit must have been working from Oct. 5 until Oct. 26.  No notes have ever been made about a fan belt issue; neither by the tech nor the customer.  The unit is beyond our repair and in a very restrained space under the house.  We do not feel a refund should be issued for service that was performed due to the fact that parts are on the furnace and it was working on our departure.  Any issue that occurred after that was not due to our lack of diligence, but rather a new issue (non-related to a nozzle and filter change) that occurred during normal operation.  We did not charge the customer for the 2nd call because we could not do anything further for the unit.  We feel this customer has been treated fairly and we have done our due diligence. Sincerely,   [redacted] Office Manager

I am in receipt of the complaint for customer [redacted]. I would like to address the issue of the complaint and our service for her oil furnace. Total Tech’s history with this system began in 2011. We did not install the system, but rather began maintaining the unit when the customer called us for an...

issue.  In Oct 2012 we completed a service call and the technician added fuel treatment to the oil due to water being found in the tank resulting in the customer having to hit the reset button to get the unit to ignite.  Oct. 5, 2015 the customer called to schedule an appointment stating she, again, had to hit the reset button on the furnace to get the unit to run.   A technician was dispatched the same day to the site location and upon arriving, the tech found that the unit needed a new oil nozzle and oil filter.  This oil furnace system is located in the basement.  No floor unit has ever been noted in our records.   The technician stated that the lines for the oil tank were coming out of the bottom of the tank.  Any sediment or water would have been siphoned from the bottom with this placement.  The technician changed the nozzle and filter and advised the customer to get clean (non-watered down) fuel.  The technician did not note any issues with the fan belt at this time nor did the homeowner mention any. The system was working properly upon our departure. Our labor rate at that time was $99.50 (minimum) for the 1st hour. 10/5/15 Technician – 1 hour labor $ 99.50 Nozzle    -                             7.69 Filter      -                             5.99 WV Tax -                             6.79 Total invoice cost        $119.97 PD ck#---A call came in on Oct. 26, 2015 from the customer stating that the furnace still didn’t seem to want to stay lit.  She had to keep hitting the reset button to get the unit to run.  The homeowner had an oil company come re-run her oil lines from the top of the tank.  The technician looked at them and noted the following in his paperwork “FUEL LINES SET UP WRONG.  SINGLE LINE OFF THE TOP.  HAS OVER 2" OF WATER IN TANK.  CANNOT WORK ON DUE TO LOCATION IN CRAWL SPACE.  UNIT RUSTED AROUND FLU PIPE.  ADVISED CUSTOMER NOT TO USE AND REPLACE.  NOTHING MORE WE CAN DO AT THIS TIME”.  We did not charge the customer anything for this return visit as there was nothing for us to do at this time.  To date there have been no charges or invoices totaling $500.00. The only monetary amount we have collected was for the Oct. 2015 visit in the amount of $119.97.  In conclusion, Total Tech has made every effort to complete the repair for the customer within our resources.  We feel that the charges incurred to date are correct and warranted.  At this time, she has an older oil furnace that is in need of replacement due to age/condition of unit.  We value our customers and strive to be fair and honest in our service. Sincerely,[redacted]Office Manager
