Review: William Sherman Inc. installed a new hot water heater for us in December 2013 when ours broke and leaked. On January 21, 2015, the water heater began leaking from the over pressure value, so the company installed a new pressure reducing valve on the main, which cost us $675. A few days later, the water heater was still leaking, and the company said we needed an expansion tank, which cost $275. Early May 2015, the valve started chattering and vibrating every time we turned on the water. We called William Sherman Inc at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11, and they said they would come for a 4:00 or later appointment, but didn't contact us until 10:30 pm to ask if he could still come. We set up an appointment for the following day (May 12), the plumber came at 4:30 pm and heard the noise/saw the vibrations. We asked for a new valve, but he said that since the current one was just installed 4 months ago, he couldn't do that. He tapped the valve and tried adjusting the pressure. The plumber left abruptly about 10 minutes after arriving. I checked the water pressure and noticed it was going up over 100 lbs.

We immediately called the owner to ask for the plumber to come back asap because the water was leaking out of the over pressure value on the hot water heater. I also mentioned to the owner to have a replacement value put in. The owner vehemently denied needing a new value and stated that he never saw a value go bad. However, he said the plumber would come back later that evening as soon as he finished with his next job. The plumber never came back. He called 9:30 at night and asked if we wanted the value adjusted again. We said no because the owner said we wouldn't be getting a new value and adjusting wouldn't fix the problem. We hired a different company, who said we needed a new reduction value to remedy the situation. A new one was installed for $325. Everything is fine now, with no thanks to William Sherman Inc. We were correct in needed a new value.Desired Settlement: Since we had to pay a different plumbing company $325 to replace the value that was installed by William Sherman Inc., we would like the William Sherman company to reimburse us for that expense. We have documentation from the second plumbing company stating that he installed a new reduction value, as we originally asked William Sherman Inc. to install. We also have the original value that was installed by William Sherman; he can have it back.
