Review: Ordered an additional 1 1/2 yards of fabric after already purchasing approx. 12 yds. of two different types of fabric. Fabric is represented as being an outdoor fabric that is similar to [redacted] Fabric. It is supposed to be extra durable for outside use. I called the store and spoke to [redacted] the salesperson, who simply told me to let her know how the pillows turned out since there was a soil line across the fold of the fabric. I also explained to her when I worked to try to get the soil removed, the blue faded into the white. Of course, as I said, I am paying someone an extremely large amount of money for making these cushions and pillows for my patio. This bill for the 1 1/2 yds. was $50.31; my previous bill for this same fabric and another color fabric was approx. $350. Shipping and Handling alone was $13.35. Janet made no offer to have me return the fabric, take a percentage off, store credit, or credit to my account. Surely, Williams and Sherrill must have some quality control policy.Desired Settlement: Some form of compensation or at least an offer to return the 1 1/2 yds. sent to me with a full credit of $50.31. Thank you!

The salesperson who helped this customer is new. When she received the complaint she was unsure what to do so she told the customer she would talk to me the owner. The customer has said she did not say this. I was not part of the conversation so I do not know. The salesperson did come to talk to me the same day of the complaint. I told her just to send the customer another yard and a half. The sales person called the customer back this same day and told her we were sending another yard and a half to her. The customer said she had already filed a complaint. I came in this morning and received this complaint via email. I was not aware of the fact the dye on the fabric had run when she tried to clean it. This should not happen with this fabric. I went and tested the fabric and the customer was correct the fabric dye bleed. I pulled the fabric from being shipped and called the customer immediately in the hopes that we could get the original yardage back and replace it with something else. Unfortunately the customer had already fabricated cushions with it and her workroom thought they could work around the soiled part. I told the customer that if she had any problems with the fabric that I would refund her money, reimburse her for the fabrication, and find her a new fabric. This is the way we would handle a complaint of this nature at Williams and Sherrill regularly. Unfortunately there was a failure in communication by my salesperson during the initial complaint that lead to this filling.
