My mother passed away on February 19, in Indianapolis, INHer body was picked up by Williams Bluitt and transported to another city for funeral and burialThe transportation and pick up fee was paid in full on February 20, and they even sent a letter and receipt to my home address in Pittsburgh, PADespite that, a notice was sent to collections in my sister's name for collection of the transportation and storage feesAfter a phone call from collections, I emailed the receipt, letter and envelope to my sister and she called the funeral home and they apologized for the inconvenienceAwhile later, the collection agency called my sister a second time and the same procedure occurred with apologies from Williams & BluittHere it is almost a year later and she received another call from collections and this time the collection hit her credit reportI do not understand what the problem is and why this has not been fixed but I would just like to warn everyone to make sure you check out other funeral homes and their reviews before making a decisionThis is not just a simple mix upA simple mix up was the first few times, but now it has turned into an issue of the collection going on a credit report which has long lasting consequences

My mother-in-law recently passedWilliams & Bluitt was selected to do her arrangementsMy wife had planned everything and paid for two years agoFrom the initial meeting with MrB [redacted] to the limo drivers bringing us back home, I cannot say enough about how happy my family was with the services they providedAs we went to see the viewing, they had her looking to beautiful it brought my wife and brother in law to tearsHer hair was done, makeup was just right, clothing was put on perfectlyEverything was just right The day before the service, Norma and Stan met me at my church to do measuring for the doors to make sure the casket would clear the openingThey were professional, courteous, reverent as well as warm and funny (during the brief phone conversation with Norma, after we set a time to meet at my church, she told me "I'm an on time person" I replied "So am I"We made the time for 11:at 10:she was knocking at the front door!) I had to do some modifications to the front door of the church to accommodate the casketAfter the service, Stan W [redacted] (USMC, like me) and the other three drivers had re-assembled everything like it was before with me asking them to do it! that was the point that made me want to write this letter From the office staff to the drivers, their professionalism and warmth was top notch I wish there was a rating higher than to give themGod bless you all at Williams & Bluitt

I appreciate the opportunity to respond to the concerns of the family we served, I am working diligently with the collection agency to obtain written confirmation that account has beenremoved from collections and the credit bureaus have been notified that the account was placed in error Once I obtain such confirmation, I willforward it to the family Additionally, in the interest of customer service, I also plan to reach out to the family to again apologize for ouroversight and offer to refund the monies she paid for the service provided I hope this has been responsive Please contact me if you have any questions or would like todiscuss further

This was a clerical error in our accounting system.  The incorrect amount for the bill was placedonto the account.  The error has been corrected. We here at Williams & Bluitt take pride in ourselves to give professionalservice to all of our families and truly apology for the...
