Williams Family Dental Reviews (3)

I am rejecting this response because:re: Complaint #12006051Date: April 7, With regard to the response from Williams Family Dental, I would like to address the following:Regarding the upper denture, please be aware that I am not complaining about the denture I am only complaining about the implants on the right side of my mouth The upper denture fits okay and I wanted implants for the firmer fit However I only have contact with the implant and ring on the left side of my mouth When I initially saw Dr Chandler I told him the denture did not stay in, and that Dr Rivera (she made the denture) told me any dentist could fix it by relining it I believe that is what he did After that procedure was completed, I scheduled an appointment for my lower denture At that time, I saw Dr Williams who indicated he could place the implants on both the upper and the lower and make the lower denture, to which I agreed With regard to losing my denture, and Dr Williams replacing it at the considerable savings of $800, I ask this: How much of a savings is $(I believe I paid $for it) if it keeps breaking at the site where the implant ring is on the left side of my denture and the ring never stays in on the right side of the denture If I understood my prostodontist correctly, he indicated the implant is askew on the right side of the gum and when the implant hits the ring, it knocks it outAfter the lower denture kept breaking, DrWilliams fixed it again and ordered a new one for me This is the one I CANNOT WEAR When I told DrWilliams it felt like I had a mouth full of marbles, he checked it and said that on my return visit, he would cut the back molars off I do not believe you can fix dentures by just cutting off some molars I thought about this seriously and decided to cancel my appointment With DrWilliams I have read my letter to DrWilliams, and I never said anything about having the implants removedAt that point, I saw the dentists I mentioned in my complaint DrCha is working with me and I am having gum surgery to lower the gum line so that my new denture doesn't rock up and down when I bite down So here it is, April and I am still trying to get a decent set of dentures

With regard to the response from Williams Family Dental, I would like to address the following:Regarding the upper denture, please be aware that I am not complaining about the denture.  I am only complaining about the implants on the right side of my mouth.  The upper denture fits okay and I wanted implants for the firmer fit.  However.  I only have contact with the implant and ring on the left side of my mouth.  When I initially  saw Dr Chandler I told him the denture did not stay in, and that Dr Rivera (she made the denture) told me any dentist could fix it by relining it.  I believe that is what he did.  After that procedure was completed, I scheduled an appointment for my lower denture.  At that time, I saw Dr Williams who indicated he could place the implants on both the upper and the lower and make the lower denture, to which I agreed.  With regard to losing my denture, and Dr Williams replacing it at the considerable savings of $800, I ask this:  How much of a savings is $800 (I believe I paid $1000 for it) if it keeps breaking at the site where the implant ring is on the left side of my denture and the ring never stays in on the right side of the denture.  If I understood my prostodontist correctly, he indicated the implant is askew on the right side of the gum and when the implant hits the ring, it knocks it out. After the lower denture kept breaking, Dr. Williams fixed it again and ordered a new one for me.  This is the one  I CANNOT WEAR.  When I told Dr. Williams it felt like I had a mouth full of marbles, he checked it and said that on my return visit, he would cut the back molars off.   I do not believe you can fix dentures by just cutting off some molars.  I thought about this seriously and decided to cancel my appointment With Dr. Williams.   I have read my letter to Dr. Williams, and I never said anything about having the implants removed. At that point, I saw the dentists I mentioned in my complaint.  Dr. Cha is working with me and I am having gum surgery to lower the gum line so that my new denture doesn't rock up and down when I bite down.  So here it is, April 2017 and I am still trying to get a decent set of dentures.

In response to your letter dated March 10,2017 I would like to give a little history. [redacted] came into our office as a new patient July 9, 2015 very unhappy with her existing (six month old) denture. She told Dr. Chandler that her previous dentist recommended that she have a new denture...

made. Dr. Chandler explained to patient that she will still have some gingival shrinkage and suggested that we remove her soft reline and do a hard reline. After we delivered her hard reline she expressed happiness at both adjustment appointments in July and September. She also let us know that she wanted a lower denture instead of her existing treatment partial. Dr. Chandler explained the benefits of implants on the upper and lower to provide more stability. On October 21,2015 all lower extractions were done and her immediate denture was placed. Patient tolerated procedure well with an expected number of sore spots. After a few minor adjustments the sore spots were eliminated and she always left happy. At the time of her extraction appointment she expressed to us that she wanted to proceed with four implants, two on the upper and two on the lower. January 27,2016 Mrs. Baldwin let us know that she lost her lower denture. As a courtesy Dr. Williams gave her a significant discount of almost $800.00 to help make things a little easier financially. This was not mentioned in her letter. We also placed four implants at this appointment. She tolerated this procedure well. Patients lower denture cracked and we repaired it twice. Dr. Williams told her we would like to make her a new one so we did. We had a few problems with the locaters not fitting tight enough. When we would place them they would go in well but would not hold. We wanted to continue treating Mrs. Baldwin but she was not willing therefor, we would be open to reimbursing her for the dentures. Dr. Williams is apprehensive about her decision to have the implants removed. He strongly believes sturdy implants should only be removed if they cannot be utilized and all options have been exhausted. Dr. Williams would like to see written reports from these doctors justifying the removal of these implants.Sincerely, Janet BelknapOffice Manager
