On Dec 1, William's was contacted regarding a residential sump pump malfunctioning by our tenant living in the property on instructions from myselfThe person, Dave W., advised that it would be a $charge just to come and diagnose the problem and also advised that it would be between $and $to replace itWe found this odd since he had not even come out yet and had no idea,what was the problem, if it needed replacement etc He came out, called and recommended replacement saying it was completely rusted outHe advised that it would cost $including taxWe asked why so muchThis repair should have been between $300-$He said that we should replace it our 1/hp with a stronger 1/hp pump and that they cost $We live almost hours away as this is our retirement home in years so I said go aheadHe did the repair and the next evening, he called for paymentHe then told us the make and model of the pump he installed and the retail cost was $*** Pumps S1/3-Horse ( that is retail and not what a contractor would pay)On the invoice he charged $plus tax for the pump and other parts he would not describe in detail but said amounted to $That means he billed us $for the Sump PumpHe billed $for "diagnostic and $for an hour of repairs and he was there minutes.It is a simple job and the part that was used was grossly misrepresented Before the repair, he did not disclose the make and model even when we specifically askedHe just said a good sump pump 1/hp costs $After I paid the bill, he then told me the make and model of the pumpI looked it up while I was on the phoneI explained to him what I had found and that the part was no where near the cost he representedHe said I must be looking at american prices and I sent him the information immediatelyI advised him that I would never use his service again and that I would report him to the Revdex.com as I felt he had grossly overcharged for parts and labor

I am sorry you feel that way but I to have Integrity if you want I will go and remove pump and back check valve this morning and you can buy your pump off ***
I would just want my original $service call + hst But I want to be clear , I told your Tenant/ Brother when he called there would be a callout charge to see what was needed than time and material after that .He said he would check with you and call back, he did and said come over and have take a look When I talked to you , I told you the bill would be close to or more than total $ Your Husband called me back promptly and told me to go ahead after a few questions Made arrangements with Tenant /Brother to come back following evening we he was home to install new sump pump.You had Hrs to think over my verbal quote and decide than to say to much or not interested I provided you with quick response to come out , to Diagnose problem , provided verbal quote, came back next day as discussed and did jobYes I charge markup on pump and parts , If there is a problem I come back to take care of it you wont get that with ***I was able to go across town get parts from local supplier which backs with warranty and travel back and InstallThat is the Hour labour my time and knowledge are worth something Please let me know what you would like me to do Dave

My issue is with the quote you provided of a 1/horsepower pump When I questioned you the day before the install to ask how much the pump was , YOU STATED that a decent one was $ and that warranted a quote of close $ THE PUMP WAS NO WHERE NEAR $That is where the integrity issue comes into question Also, most businesses charge to come out but when they get the job they deduct either all or a portion of the "diagnostic" chargeWe agreed so we paid but that does not mean you provided a fair quote.When you mark up products almost 100% and charge hours time for 1/ you are not offering a warranty on your labor, you charge ahead of time for service you may never provideThat is not explained to the customerYou take it upon yourself to pre-charge without consentI am sure as well that the supplier has nothing to do with the parts warranty if the sump is new, that would be the manufacturer, your supplier has nothing to do with the customerIf it is new and defective then the manufacturer will replace It would only be void if the install was faulty, which would be work you were already paid for and should honor without additional cost! If you charge for labor warranty then communicate that at the time of the quote as wellThank you for your offer to come out and undo the work but not necessary I want no restitution, just others to be aware of your business practices so they could decide for themselves if your company provides value and works in it's customers best interestSincerely Deborah
Dave came out to put a heat duct and register in the kitchen of the house I bought in welland...extremely professional,fast,courteous,are how I would describe dave...well as life happens...a few days after I moved in I called dave as I didnt know where to turn or what to do...I thought my cat suzy was in the cold air return...dave was at my house within 10min...after ascertaing she wasnt in the cold air return the furnace or the heat ducts...dave went above and beyond his job description...dave went into the crawl space...she went to a spot he couldnt reach..I was terrified to go in...daves calm gentle kind demeanor...he helped encouraged me and physically helped me up and into the crawl space..long story short he got my suzy out...I cannot thank dave enough...or say enough to express my gratitude for dave...his kindness was above and beyond expected...thank you dave ...you are truly my suzys hero
