Williams San Diego Memorial Chapel Reviews (4)

On July 18, 2016, we received a telephone call from a person who stated she had a plant delivered to the funeral home for Mr. [redacted] 's service. She further stated this plant was to be given to [redacted] and she had not received it. I hesitated with a reply because it took me a minute to... realize who [redacted] was. I tried to explain the her that in accordance with [redacted] San Diego Memorial Chapel procedures; arrangements that ca't be left at the cemetery (i.e. in glass containers and live plants) are given to the responsible party that contracted for the service and that the plant was given to that family member. At this point she stated ranting and raving; stating that where she is from the funeral home personnel gives the arrangements to whom they were meant for. I tried to explain to her that in California all arrangements are taken to the cemetery except thos that are not allowed; it is not our practice to do as she said it is done in her home state. She continued ranting and raving. I asked her why are you talking to me in that tone? When she continued to try and belittle me, I terminated the call. The plant is in the possession of [redacted] , [redacted] (responsible party), son of deceased. He stated he has discuss this situation with [redacted] and the he will have his nephew deliver the plant to ***. It should be noted: usually if a person wants a plant given/delivered to a specific person, it is delivered to the person's home and not the funeral home or place of service.

Let me explain our procedures Approximately fie minutes before the start of a funeral service, all floral cards are taken of of the funeral flowers or plants The cards are placed in an envelope, this envelope is put in a presentation bag and given to the responsible party at the end of the service
Funeral arrangements that can't be left at the cemetery (i.ein glass containers and live plants are also given to the responsible party that contracted for of the serviceSympathy arrangements are usually addressed and sent directly to a love one of the deceased (family members, friend, acquaintance, business associate) who has suffered a loss However, if the arrangement is sent to the mortuary and we are asked that following the funeral service a specific arrangement be given to a specific person, we would have made every effort to see that this request was carried outIn the absence of any request or instructions beforehand we followed our usual procedures and give the plant to the responsible party When I discussed this matter with Mr***, he advised me that he has addressed this situation with the specific party (his sister) and that arrangements were made to return the plant to her

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Correction: I did not rant and rave to Ms***. She got on the phone and was EXTREMELY RUDE to me. She told me it wasn't the funeral homes job to monitor flowers/plants. That seems so very odd to me. The plant was addressed to *** ***. Not sure why it wasn't given to her. It was not addressed to *** Jr. Please note this is the same last name of the deceased. Why would I send the plant to the home of who I wanted it to go to. Normally you send flowers/plants to the funeral home for the funeral service. Apparently things are done differently in CA verses IL. *** was having a tough time with all of this to begin with - dealing with the death of her father, family that were not being nice to her at all, and a funeral home director who was also very RUDE to her (***). I was just calling to inquire what happened to the plant that I spent $on and I didn't deserve the rude treatment I received or to be hung up on the phone by Ms***. I was so appalled by the lack of customer service from her. I don't see how she is still in business. Thank you for your time and for submitting my complaint to her. Hopefully, she will be nicer and more caring to any future clients or should I say clients family members. *** ***
