Williams' Tree & Stump Service

Gave him 1 star, because he did not damage my house taking down a tree. He has not returned any of my calls and emails regarding his unfinished job. Also has not sent me a receipt and HOA letter, as promised. Be sure to get a WRITTEN estimate because his handshake is worthless, as he is not a man of his word. My experience was very similar to that described by Reviewer1904196.

Company did not complete the work for which they were paid. Williams Tree Service was hired to removed a certain number of trees and to grind a certain number of stumps. One partial tree was left and still needs cut flush and ground out. The company was paid for this service, and has been requested now for months to return and complete the job. I can rarely get through and when I do I am always told to call back in a few days and something will be scheduled, when I perform those steps, then there is no answer and no one responds.I have several emails from this company saying they are going to come back out and complete the work. This is a lesson learned that if all work is not completed, the contractor should not get paid until it is.Desired SettlementI believe this company should refund the amount of monies it is going to cost to get another company to come out and complete the work. It is clear they are not going to complete the work at this point. I continue to be ignored and put off.

On 8/26/14 co. cut 3 trees (my yd.),removed the limbs, dropped and left the trees on my neighbor's lot which is for sale. He has not ret'd. SCAMMED!!I was Scammed by [redacted] (Williams Tree Svc, Fremont or Goldsboro, NC.) He rushed me into allowing him to cut 3 pine trees late afternoon on 8/26/2014. I made a few calls (including one to the bank to borrow the money) and thought he was ok. He and his buddies ret'd 2 more days and took the limbs from the trees to the street for me and a neighbor that he had also worked for that day.(The town pk'd these up but were not supposed to.) He said he had someone coming on Fri to pk up the actual trees. I was not able to catch him on the phone until 9/10. Said he would get them by 9/12. No show! I gave him until 9/17. Trees still in her yd. today 10/8. She does not know about this yet but she will be irrate! I do not want him to come back but I can't find anyone to get rid of them. His co-worker came by last wk (?), stopped me in the street around the block and asked "if he and ? (someone w/ him) could get rid of the trees for me. They would give me a real good deal [redacted]" I told him NO! Thank you! I pd [redacted] most of what I owed him in 3 pay'ts but was able to stop pay't on my last chk before it cleared my bank. Ha!Ha!I understand from someone (I met)that knows them. He said that this is a common practice of this co. They need to be STOPPED!! I can't believe I allowed this to happen to me. He was working at another neighbor's house which caused me to think he was ok. WRONG!!! We had owner, [redacted] out for a quote on having several trees cut and stumps ground and one large oak trimmed. When he arrived, he gave us his quote and said he was ready to start work then and there, which we agreed to. That afternoon he and his crew cut down a large tree, several small trees and started on the removal of another large tree. We had to leave and when we came back they had done a great amount of work, although had not yet finished. The trees looked beautiful, but they had left limbs all over the yard. We called him and said that the trees looked great but we were disappointed in the limbs strewn all over, and he was very apologetic and said he would be back the following week to finish. He set up a day and time between 10 and 12. When that day arrived, he was late by about 3 hours, and I was pretty aggravated because we had appointments set up throughout the day, but once he got there, I asked him to grind the stump of a large tree that was not part of what he had included in his price. He told me he would do it but it would be extra. I then asked him if he would grind the stump instead of cutting down the final tree, and I was not that nice about it. I told him we had spent our budget on the trees and could not pay any more and that he had made us wait all afternoon. At that, he said he would do both, that I did not have to choose one instead of the other. He then proceeded to grind every stump in our entire yard, even ones that were not part of the original deal, cut up a huge tree trunk that had been down for years, and really did a wonderful job on everything. If we had not truthfully overspent our tree removal budget, we would have tipped him but we honestly did not have it to give. We will definitely continue to use him for our tree removal and trimming, which we have to do pretty much every year. He and his crew are super hard workers and do a really great job. He is very gentlemanly and respectful, as is his crew, The only thing I could fault him for is not calling to let us know he was going to be late. Otherwise, this was a perfect experience.","pos-1
