I am a licensed firearms dealer and a Washington licensed firearms and ammo dealer. My business practices are extremely strict.
The customer in question purchased a handgun from me. When the time came to do the paperwork, she put her ID as Montana License instead of WA DL.
The instructions clearly...
state WA ID required. I even told her that before she started the form. I performed a preliminary NICS check and it came back as “Delayed”
The state then ran a background check and they denied it. The customer then asked me if she could have someone else fill out the background information. That is highly
illegal (Strawman purchase). I explained to her that I would have to decline her purchase and refund her money. At that point she said she would get her driver’s license so she would have the proper ID.
A week later she called and said that she “just simply wasn’t ready to give up her Montana drivers license”. She has lived here for over a year and is required to get a state ID after 90 days as a resident. She also asked to ship it to Montana because they were going on vacation so she could just pick it up there, I asked her how she would get it back and her response was that she would just bring it back. I told her that was also illegal and her response was that “everyone does it”. When I said that there was no way I was going to transfer it to her she got angry.
She has no regard for the law and because of her constant avoidance to get proper ID and has tried every way possible to get possession of a gun. I told her that I couldn’t possibility sell her nor any of her immediate family a firearm. I do reserve the right to refuse service to anyone if I feel the transaction would in any way be illegal or would harm someone. I feel she is vindictive and has a hidden agenda.
I have mailed her a check but it has not been cashed nor has it been returned. I have put a stop payment on it and will be mailing a [redacted] money order to the address I have on file. This is my second attempt to refund her.

My bank told me to wait daysThat days is up, I will be sending out postal money order to her addressThat is the end of it
