This business is shut down because of the Covid-19 state requirement. But I am getting bills from them for "missing appointments". Appointments I have not made. It looks erroneous. This company looks to be trying to make money during this event illegally.
I would like to first note due to constraints of HIPPA we are not allowed to discuss patient information with anyone unless our patients give us that authority. Because of these regulations our response is not able to be detailed. I have attached an unsigned Financial Agreement form that all of our patients sign when they first arrive at our practice notifying our patients of our missed appointment policy. As a courtesy to them we always waive the first missed/late cancellation fee to insure that they are aware of our policies for which they have agreed to. Beginning with the second instance we send out a bill for $50, this merely covers a portion of the time that our staff is then paid while not being able to treat a patient. Even on the second instance if there is an extenuating circumstance that is relayed to use we can often negate the bill. Our office has tried several times to reach out to the customer regarding the matter but we have not heard back. I am happy to go into more specific detail about the complaint, however would need written approval from the patient. If there was extenuating circumstances for this patient I would be happy to discuss removing the charge from the bill.
