Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have called the closest powder coat company I could find and asked them to give me a quote. The rescinded 100.00 offer from [redacted], would not even cover the sand blasting that is required as stated from a professional auto body owner. I called them as a last ditch effort and explained that this incident would go on their record.I explained that I would post the truth on several forums and warn people about how they ignored my issue and ignored the Revdex.com. All of a sudden they were willing to do something to resolve the issue. Now they are willing to pay to re-coat the Tire Gate. I will get a quote on the repair and see if they will reconcile the issues. I will accept if they do what he has suggested. I still do not trust this company because they did not do what they promised and ignored both myself and the Revdex.com. I will follow up with the Revdex.com when they actually provide a solution and follow through with it to the end.

Hi [redacted], [redacted], our GM, is in contact with [redacted] attempting to resolve [redacted]’s unhappiness with our product.  Our warranty does not include the finish (which in this case is powdercoat) yet we are working with him regardless of this fact as well as the mistreatment and lack of care to our product. Regards, [redacted]

Review: The product has a limited lifetime warranty against workmanship and defective materials. There warranty can be voided if the finish is altered in any way. The product in question had not been altered. I went back and forth with President [redacted] about a repair/replacement. He blamed the corrosion on harsh conditions because my 2004 spare tire had rust on it. I explained that the truck was bought used in 2012. I sent him pictures of my vehicle and product. The powder coat finish had failed and [redacted] would state...Email Start:Hi [redacted],We have very few problems with our products and coatings, why yours has failed is unclear to us. Firstly, please indicate what our warranty is, I believe your are beyond our warranty.Secondly, what would you like us to do? Re-coat, replace, please advise.[redacted] : Email EndThe tire gate is so gone and rusted, that re-coating it would not resolve issue. The welds are rusted and finish is gone. Metal is flaking off in big particles. I called and talked to [redacted]. He stated to me that all the products are now treated with zinc and powder coat to add an extra layer of protection. He assured me they would resolve issue for me.The after I had requested replacement he stated in email: Email Start [redacted],I will review our Limited lifetime warranty however I believe it excludes the coating. We cannot control our customers use or their environment, it appears both in your case are the extreme. It is likely you scratched through the powder-coat and the bare metal was exposed where the rust began and migrated from. I am unwilling to zinc plate your product, although a great corrosion inhibitor, this not used in our normal processing and I will not make an exception in your case.I am willing to contribute $100 towards your zinc coating and powder-coat as a good faith gesture. Otherwise I believe your request is unreasonable .[redacted]: Email EndThe whole product is rusted including welds which are protected from scratching. Screen Shot of online warranty.Desired Settlement: I would be happy to pay for economy, ground shipping for a new replacement unit that has the new zinc plating and powder-coat finish supplied by Tire Gate ( Wilschur Design and Manufacturing, Inc) of Santa Ana CaliforniaI would appreciate the Seller to revise their web site on the warranty. If they do not honor the warranty, it should not be stated otherwise on their web site. Hopefully, buyers beware and they do not go through what I have. I would also be happy to provide all pictures.

Response:

I spoke with [redacted] on the phone this morning (6/22). [redacted] stated that he was unsatisfied with our offer of $100 towards a new powder coat. He threatened to post a bad review on every off-road forum on the web if we did not stand behind our product. I stated that the structural integrity of the product was not compromised due to the current amount of rust. I suggested that he get an estimate from a local paint shop on the actual cost to strip and re-powder coat his product, and that after receiving an estimate we will decide whether to cover the cost of powder coat or arrange for a different solution. I also recommended that in the mean time [redacted] should use a product like T-9 to reduce any additional corrosion that may occur in between now and when the finish issue is resolved. [redacted] agreed to get an estimate and then contact me with the quote. He also stated that he would look into buying some T-9 to spray on the product in the mean time.
