Wilson's Auto Repair Reviews (4)

I want to give a fantastic review for Wilson's Auto Repair. Several months ago I had to have my old trucks transmission replaced. [redacted] and his crew did a wonderful job and I have not had a problem with my truck since the transmission was replaced. They have wonderful customer service and they let you know upfront what needs to be done and the cost. I will go to Wilson's from now on for any automotive needs.

A fee of $50.00 for an estimate when there was no sign of fee or policy. Damaged done to front bumper of my vehicle. My vehicle was towed on 04/13/15 around 530pm for a blown drive shaft on my vehicle. I went to the repair shop the following day on 4/14/15 to see about an estimate for repair, as I sort out a better price for repairs I informed the manager [redacted] that I will be getting my vehicles towed from his shop to another due to a better estimate from another business. It was a 300$ difference in pricing. I was told from him I will be charged $50.00 for researching the parts and estimate of the vehicle. When I arrive at his shop there was no sign or policy stating anywhere in the business about my fee for researching parts. The manager is no where in the shop and the employee working explained to me I was charged because "they don't work for free", I paid the fee so I have my key and the employees would not let me have it unless I signed my receipt. I was basically forced to sign it to receive my key so my vehicle can be towed out of their shop. When I return to my vehicle there was noticeable damaged to the front of my bumper. The problem to begin with is under neath the vehicle in the center of the truck. No where near the front bumper. I have pictures and witnesses that can verify that my bumper was not damaged prior to the towing. I My number has black scuff marks all over the front, my bumper is popping out, my light bracket with broke off on the inside of bumper. I also have a witness that was with me during this visit the entire time. After my vehicle was towed out of their shop I leave and call the manager. I ask him again about the fee and he said it was standard, I also ask him about the bumper damage and he states he has no idea what I am talking about, I inform him of the pictures and finger prints plus damages he tells me his driver left for the day and it would best if I do what I got to do on my own. I have also contacted my insurance company about this matter. I never got to see my vehicle until it was off of the jack stands when I came back to retain my key for the other tow truck to receive it. I was forced to sign my receipt and pay a fee for services that were not stated and also damaged to the front of my vehicle that were not done before the towing. Again I have taken pictures of the damage done, I also have the fingerprints all over the bumper. I received bad service and damage in my opinion because I found a better estimate to my liking and not their own.Desired SettlementI am seeking my fee of $50.00 returned and also the damages done to the front my vehicle repair. If there is also any issue about anything again, I have witness who can vouch for my truck about how the bumper was in the front before the damaged and I also have pictures of the said damaged. I have a witness who was with me when this incident happened if further evidence is required.

Review: I went to Wilson's auto repair on 9-6-13 to get two vehicles Emissions and Inspection. I originally was going to get my car a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox done first but my check engine light was on so they hooked it up and there was no codes showing and I said this was a problem I am aware of from my gas cap and no one can seem to correct it. He agreed and said I need to take the car and fill it with gas and bring it back. In the meantime they would get my second car a 2008 Jeep Commander taken car of. I took the car and filled it with gas, I checked all the fluid levels and disconnected the battery to clean it. I then took the car back and told him what I did. He said no problem we just have to let the car reset all the modelers so we can hook it back up to pass. I then left and my husband called him later that night he said everything was going good he was just waiting for a few more modelers to set. We then called the next day and asked if the car was ready he said he still had one modeler to set and it should be done shortly he also added that he had to add $30.00 in gas to my vehicle after I just filled it up. I asked him why he did that when he just told me to fill it up and he said well we have been driving the car to get all the sequences to fix the modelers. I then said sir you can just red flag it and I will get a temporary sticker so I can drive it until it resets because I need my car and don't have the money for you to have labor hours of driving my car. He said no that's not necessary it will be done shortly. I then showed up later that night and my car was not there I asked him where it was and he said his son took it for a drive and he was not sure how long it would be. I told [redacted] that I need my car back to call his son and just red flag it. He said he would call me when his son got back and never called me. I then called on the third day and spoke with Bob and told him I would be there in 1 Hour to pick my car up to go ahead and red flag it. I went there a hour and a half later and my car was not there. He said I think my son should be back any minute with it and we will be able to but the stickers on it. I waited there in hour and he did not show up. I said I need my car today I can’t wait any longer he then said okay I will call you when he gets back. He never called me. The next morning day 4 I show up and my car was done. He hands me a bill for $418.70 for my Equinox and I said why is this so much you didn’t fix anything nor did I give you permission to he said well I had to drive it over 400 miles to get it to reset. I said I told you to red flag it and I would drive it. He said I can’t just red flag it and let you leave. I said well that’s not what the DMV said. He said well you should have never unhooked the battery and I said I know this now but I told you I can’t pay you to drive my car. He said well I did what I had to do to get it to pass. I said well I have to call the police because I never signed a paper saying you could do this. He said go ahead and call them because you are not getting your car till you pay so I did call 911 and they said to just pay him and I would have to file a civil suit. I then tried to pay with a check and he would not accept it he said cash only. I then called 911 again and told them he would not accept my check they told me to pay with my credit card then and I said he told me cash only so then the officer said put him on the phone so I did and he told him he has to accept my card. He then took my card and as he was checking me out I asked why the paper from the commonwealth of Pennsylvania said everything passed but his receipt says all the charges was because it failed. He said because I spent 5 hours driving it. I said well I never gave you permission for that and he said you don’t have to when your car is here its mine. I then said okay I will see you in court and he then tried to sweet talk me and said I should have never passed your husband car but I did that as a favor to you so I would suggest you to reconsider and I said well if it was unsafe you should have failed it so I definitely will see you in court. Desired Settlement: later and my car was not there. He said I think my son should be back any minute with it and we will be able to but the stickers on it. I waited there in hour and he did not show up. I said I need my car today I cant wait any longer he then said okay I will call you when he gets back. He never called me.
