Unbelievable service at Wiltse's Brockville Glass. ***. Jun 2020 we ordered a storm door for the front of our house. Two months later (Aug) we called to see where it was. Due to Covid, the manufacturer was delayed. O.k. possibly another month, we were told. September we called again. Still, manufacturing delays should be another month. Beginning of October we called again. Still manufacturing delays. No indication as to when the door would be delivered. We asked if they would complete the other (minor) things we had asked to be done - caulking the side window and installing new locks on the original door - as a sign of good faith. No response. We emailed them and indicated we had been very patient and indicated that we were the ones to do the calling. This was their response:
"Our administrator was kind enough to call about your door while you stood here so you know that the delay is directly due to Covid. It was mentioned that you would like the small jobs done as a show of good faith. We do not have the manpower to be running around doing small jobs then returning and completing the major jobs for our customers. It is our hope that our customers have faith in our company and know that we will complete all jobs once we have the materials and supplies to do so. We do not keep in constant contact with our customers as that would be nearly impossible. When customers call about their orders, we give them the information at that time – as our administrator has done each time you or *** called or came into the office.
Mr., I understand you are frustrated, but you are frustrated at things that are out of our control. It is obvious that you are not happy with our company or service, therefore we will terminate our contract with you. Please come to the shop and bring your credit card with you and we will refund your deposit and cancel your order"!
Yes we waited patiently for four months, and they have cancelled our order. Customer Service none existent.
We are disheartened that this customer would write this review. The customer was advised that we would update him any time we had new information on his order and we answered his questions each time he contacted us - even going as far as calling the manufacturer while he was here. As stated in the email that we sent to this customer, he is frustrated at things that are completely out of our control. These are unprecedented times, and we all must have patience and understanding, now more than ever. We did offer to cancel his contract and he must have agreed as he came and got his refund. We are sorry that it had to end this way with this customer, but we did everything in our control. Customer Service is our top priority and with 51 years in business and thousands of happy customers, we stand by our team.
Wiltse's replaced all of the windows in the back of our house main floor.
They broke one of the panes on the Picture Window causing both delay and concern.
After all was finished, things looked good however, there seemed to be a corner that was abnormally cold.
Several years later, one of the windows seal failed and a fog would appear between the panes.
After seeing that, I looked over the work more closely and realized that cold air was pouring in at the corner I had suspected!!!
Went back to Wiltse's and explained what was happening and expecting them to fix, answer was NO. Said the window manufacturing company was no longer in business and that they had Bought Wiltse's from the previous owners and accept NO liability for their work!!! Yet they still promote themselves as the original 1953 Company.
