I feel the need to write this review/rant as I am fed up with this placeRecently, Winderemere Place has cunningly changed its name to the Haven apartments to possibly escape the terrible reviews they have had in the past My personal experience with the Haven apartments (formerly Windermere apartments) is the reason I would highly recommend seeking another place to rent fromFor starters, the stairs are atrocious, rust and concrete falling apart in all the buildings, I wonder what the internal structures look like based on the outward signs of complete deterioration On a more personal note, I rented here since they claimed that they accept pets, I have a toy breed (yorkie) that is well trainedTwo weeks before I am slated to move into a two bedroom apartmentwhere I would only have to pay for the one bedroom (TWO WEEKS!) I get a call stating that I have to either get rid of my dog or rent the whole apartment because they cannot rent the other room if I have a pet...(at this point I have no idea what to do, I have no family to give my dog to, and there is no way I was putting it up for adoptionAll the while thinking, "I thought you accepted pets?") luckily I post around craigslist, whisper, etc and I finally found someone within the apartments willing to live with a pet)You would think that that was the end of itNoI get hit with a $transfer feeWhy? since I had signed for a bedroom lease and I am not moving into the two bedroom anymore..(because I was forced out)It is know two months into my lease, I hate living hereremember the transfer fee? the bill was posted into my account on the first of SeptemberI paid it on the first of September, and here I am on the 13th, with them assessing late fees of which they absolutely will not give a concise reason as to why I am being assesed late fees!!!! The executive director also has a dog, and guess what? We at Windermere Place strive to meet excellence in customer service and feel deep regret in this... situation. [redacted] was on a sublease last year which would entitle him to the deposit paid on the account by the previous teaser. [redacted] moved out on move out day and then moved back in again under a new sublease which he is currently a tenant under. When [redacted] moved back in under a new sublease the resident [redacted] sublet from didn't have a deposit, they had a co-signer. [redacted] doesn't have a co-signer so the deposit that was in process to be refunded to him from his previous move out was re-applied to his account as a security deposit for his current lease term. [redacted] will be refunded his security deposit if applicable upon completion of his current lease term. We apologize for any confusion in this process. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
[redacted] And [redacted]
We have been in contact with the business manager Cheryl, who stated that this company had lost key records in changing to a different accounting process.  The first lease [redacted] had was a sub sub leaser and the deposit from [redacted] was 500 and was to be refunded to us within 45 days of vacating the apartment. That agreement ended 7/31/2013.  To date we have had ten additional calls to Wyndemere Apartments since filing with the Revdex.com,  and we have not been able to resolve this matter.
[redacted] after leaving Muncie  returned  to the area and assumed someone else lease and again is a sub sub leasor. This original leaser [redacted], had a security deposit that was to be applied to this second agreement.
After all our conversations finally Cheryl states that she needs a Guarantor form completed and I stated that one had been completed and sent in May of 2013. She said she had no form from me.  I also stated that [redacted] is not a student, and why did he need a Guarantor form as he works full time.  She said that she was sure they did a credit check and I said I doubt that a check was even done.
I said we had a copy of the original Guarantor document and I would resubmit this to her.  I faxed it on 3/7/14.  I received no verbal or written confirmation that the business office received this form.  I called on 3/11/14 and Cheryl stated she did not get the fax.  I refaxed it at 1 30 pm on 5/11/14 and called the office where upon the male who answered the phone stated that the fax was on her desk.  Again we restate that the first lease was to have a refund of 500 dollars and Ted J[redacted] left me voicemail stating that he would call back after the weekend but that things were in the works.. that call was on September 2013.
We have been more than patient and are requesting the 500 dollar refund due since September 2013 be refunded to us by April 18, 2014.  This matter should have been resolved by now.
Can anyone help us?

Windermere Place apartments

I feel the need to write this review/rant as I am fed up with this place. Recently, Winderemere Place has cunningly changed its name to the Haven apartments to possibly escape the terrible reviews they have had in the past.
My personal experience with the Haven apartments (formerly Windermere apartments) is the reason I would highly recommend seeking another place to rent from. For starters, the stairs are atrocious, rust and concrete falling apart in all the buildings, I wonder what the internal structures look like based on the outward signs of complete deterioration.
On a more personal note, I rented here since they claimed that they accept pets, I have a toy breed (yorkie) that is well trained. Two weeks before I am slated to move into a two bedroom apartment. where I would only have to pay for the one bedroom (TWO WEEKS!) I get a call stating that I have to either get rid of my dog or rent the whole apartment because they cannot rent the other room if I have a pet...(at this point I have no idea what to do, I have no family to give my dog to, and there is no way I was putting it up for adoption. All the while thinking, "I thought you accepted pets?") luckily I post around craigslist, whisper, etc and I finally found someone within the apartments willing to live with a pet). You would think that that was the end of it. No.. I get hit with a $300 transfer fee. Why? since I had signed for a 2 bedroom lease and I am not moving into the two bedroom anymore..(because I was forced out). It is know two months into my lease, I hate living here.. remember the 300 transfer fee? the bill was posted into my account on the first of September. I paid it on the first of September, and here I am on the 13th, with them assessing late fees of which they absolutely will not give a concise reason as to why I am being assesed late fees!!!!
The fridge is so small for a 4 bedroom, I am constantly seeing critters in the apartment that I have never before seen in my life. The hypocrisy with the management is something to behold. They indicate that they have restricted dog breeds, of which pit bulls, huskies, etc are not allowed. Every time I am outside, I constantly see these restricted dog breeds!!! The executive director also has a dog, and guess what? I did not see her pick up after her dog... no one picks up after their dogs in these apartments, so be wary walking on the grass. Long story short, do not rent from this place, and If you decide to proceed and rent from this place. PLEASE get renters insurance.
