Windham sent my mother a letter asking for a payment of $for co-payment of a doctor visitI was calling in to report that I had evidence of my mother's check of $had been cleared from her bank a couple months backInstead of figuring out what happened, or asked me to mail in the evidence, Windham insisted of talking to my mother, who does not speak English at allDuring the conversation, one of Windham rep slammed the phone on me, essentially cutting off our communication channel without any plan moving forwardNot being a "professional" collector myself, I can easily identify a couple of options moving forward: (1) asking for a 3-way calling so that my mother can give her approval, (2) asking for a maresponse with evidenceWe were instead left hanging with frustration
Steer clear of Windham ProfessionalsThey are a predatory company that stalks students having trouble repaying their loans, then once acquired, they tack on ridiculous interest rates, lie to you saying "your school set that interest rate" and then sit back and collect your hard-earned $ every month
When you call to negotiate after a couple years, they are complete *** on the phone, tell you that you shouldn't have gone to school in the first place if you couldn't repay your loans, etcThat's how Windham Professionals values education in this country
So when I say, steer clear, wheat I mean isif you want to be a complete and total *** and submit your student body to a living ***, then by all means hire these ***Otherwise, if you think that students deserve a breakmaybe don't call these guys
Windham Professionals did an Administrative Wage Garnishment on me in August When they became aware my contact information was incorrect they immediately pulled the garnishment and directed me to the William D Ford program and did not charge me any fees or a mandatory paymentThey even completed my financial statement for the application for me.When the consolidation loan was denied due to the garnishment they attempted to straighten out the matter with NavientHowever at this point Navient did not follow up with myself or Windham Professionals know what happened and ECMC/College Assist decided to resell my student loans off instead of contacting meMy advice to people frustrated with the bill collectors for student loans is two fold: do not get mad and hide from the collection agency as they are trying to resolve the matter for your best interest too and complain to your original loanservicer as I do not see why they will not direct you to the option of Direct Consolidation
I was defaulted in my college loans and a woman by the name of Shantel contacted me about ending a program with them to get me out if default on my loans. I owe over $19,000 and was so scared that they were going to garnish my wages or have me pay an extremely high monthly bill, well I was wrong. After sending in my check stubs and filling out some basic information they made an arrangement with me to pay $5.00 a month for 10 months and then I'd be out of default and be entered into a new agreement, which will not be high either. I am very, very satisfied with Shantel and her willingness to help guide me through this and answer all of my questions and concerns. She even put me on hold until she found out the correct answer for my questions and concerns. Thanks to Windham Professionals I am on my way out of default.
I was very wary of Windham professionals, as I am of any collection agency. After they had made a few calls to my place of employment I realized it was time to handle my student loan that had defaulted. They have been professional,kind,and efficient from the start. Great experience. I have no complaints.
