I have found them to be a very customer driven, quality service provider I’m sure I’m far from their top revenue customer but they make me feel that I am in every interaction that I haveI couldn’t recommend them higher, they are an outstanding company

you an update:I have been in touch with [redacted] regarding the door issue. I went to the jobsite mid-December with my flooring contactor to inspect the kitchen flooring. At the time of inspection the flooring still was showing moister on the moister meter. My flooring contractor advised us to let the flooring dry out before sanding and finishing.  We also have to do some re-caulking on the exterior and have been waiting for warmer weather. I have my service tech scheduled to  complete this next week.  After the caulking has been done we will schedule our flooring contractor  for the floor repair. This door install was not a typical door installation as the door unit was made up of sidelights panel and is a very narrow door opening. My salesman advised the contractor ([redacted]) that thisdoor was not a practical application and locking and sealing would be an  issue. He did not want to have our salesman talk the homeowner ( the [redacted]’s) regarding his concern for the performance of the door.  The homeowner specified a particular locking system which we provided and installed at a cost of over $600.00 to WDSP. They were not pleased with the lock so we found a new system and installed it at our expense.   During our door installation the opening and concrete stoop was not even finished as well as numerous trade working in tight quarters.   Also the structure where the door is installed was built in the 1800’s The wall thickness varies from 8” to 12”  There are numerous amounts of brick that are missing mortar that could be a source of the water entering the wall and eventually seeping in around and behind the door frame. We have removed the door sill and re-caulked at the new concrete stoop. We will do everything possible to keep water from entering from the door but cannot stop water from penetrating the porous brick wall and eventually it has to go somewhere.  I advised the [redacted]’s that they should hire a brick mason to inspect the wall and repoint/repair the mortar. I also advised them that a head drip cap would divert water from the opening. **. [redacted] was going to look into both optionsScott S[redacted]/        PLEASE NOTE MY NEW EMAIL ADDRESSE-mail:  [redacted]@WDshowplace.com###-###-#### Office###-###-#### Cell###-###-#### Fax[redacted]Sterling, VA  [redacted]www.WDshowplace.com

Review: I had several estimates (all the same type of product) and went with W&D showplace because best price. Day of delivery their installer and pointed out that door was not what I ordered (when he came to measure earlier we went over door)-so I declined delivery. The sales person that day said he would take care of the problem. After about 5-6 weeks later I emailed company to find out when the new doors would arrive-after another week or so the sales person said he had no idea of what was going on and would look into it-then he emailed with a much larger price for the correct doors and said other than that, he couldn't help me and the owner would contact me.

At this point after waiting around 5-6 weeks (beg of Dec-mid Jan) for a response-I contacted and sent [redacted] all the paperwork/details and they looked into the matter-their decision was that Window and Door showplace was at fault and I received a credit for the payment made. After [redacted] contacted them (when I first put in the claim) the owner finally contacted me. In the meantime I did try to work with them, but not only was the price higher, the measurements were changed and so was the product. I only learned of this after showing it to a contractor and when I emailed the owner with some questions, his reply was-oh yeah don't worry type answers.

They have called me several times and we stopped answering their calls. They had continued to call and threatening me with a lawsuit if I don't cooperate with them.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to honor the decision made by [redacted] and not try to push another product or the original (wrong doors). Just stop contacting me.

Response:

[redacted], I have attached our response to complaint # [redacted] filed by [redacted]. WDSP is willing and able to install the door signed for on the contract by [redacted]. [redacted]. WDSP is also willing to provide a new door for the additional cost associated with. This would require a re-instatement of the deposit credited by [redacted] and a contract addendum. Sincerely,

Consumer
