From: Scott S [redacted] < [redacted] @wdshowplace.com>Date: Tue, Mar 24, at 2:PMSubject: [redacted] CID # [redacted] To: [redacted] @myRevdex.com.orgCc: Lynn P [redacted] < [redacted] @wdshowplace.com> [redacted] Sorry for the delay in respondingI thought I had sent you an update:I have been in touch with [redacted] regarding the door issueI went to the jobsite mid-December with my flooring contactor to inspect the kitchen flooringAt the time of inspection the flooring still was showing moister on the moister meterMy flooring contractor advised us to let the flooring dry out before sanding and finishing We also have to do some re-caulking on the exterior and have been waiting for warmer weatherI have my service tech scheduled to complete this next week After the caulking has been done we will schedule our flooring contractor for the floor repairThis door install was not a typical door installation as the door unit was made up of sidelights panel and is a very narrow door openingMy salesman advised the contractor ( [redacted] ) that thisdoor was not a practical application and locking and sealing would be an issueHe did not want to have our salesman talk the homeowner ( the ***’s) regarding his concern for the performance of the door The homeowner specified a particular locking system which we provided and installed at a cost of over $to WDSPThey were not pleased with the lock so we found a new system and installed it at our expense During our door installation the opening and concrete stoop was not even finished as well as numerous trade working in tight quarters Also the structure where the door is installed was built in the 1800’s The wall thickness varies from 8” to 12” There are numerous amounts of brick that are missing mortar that could be a source of the water entering the wall and eventually seeping in around and behind the door frameWe have removed the door sill and re-caulked at the new concrete stoopWe will do everything possible to keep water from entering from the door but cannot stop water from penetrating the porous brick wall and eventually it has to go somewhere I advised the ***’s that they should hire a brick mason to inspect the wall and repoint/repair the mortarI also advised them that a head drip cap would divert water from the opening** [redacted] was going to look into both optionsScott S***/ PLEASE NOTE MY NEW EMAIL ADDRESSE-mail: [redacted] @WDshowplace.com###-###-#### Office###-###-#### Cell###-###-#### Fax [redacted] ***Sterling, VA ***www.WDshowplace.com
