Response to the complaint letter of 2/6/2017  ID [redacted]Window Gang in San Antonio is located at  [redacted], San Antonio, Texas   We have no idea who Norman Ward is .  Please make the necessary corrections. You have gone a very long way to get to our company here in San...

Antonio.  Our phone number is ([redacted])  [redacted].We completed an estimate of service with this customer on 12/12/2016.  This was a problematic job request due to the requirements of the customer wanting us to do things that presented safety issues for the workers.  We understand concerns regarding wood floors and carpeting in homes as we have been doing this in San Antonio for over 13 years.   The request was to use tarps under the ladder feet on polished wood floors.  Not a safe condition given the ladders can and most probably will slip from under the worker on the ladder.  We came to the agreement that we would place tarps on the floor beneath the work area but ladders would not be on the tarp. All our ladders have protective rubber feet. The customer was insistent that we would be responsible for issues regarding the floors. The second issue was that the customer insisted on a date that was not available in the schedule, 12/23 and we placed them on a wait list for this date if an opening occurred.    We did however schedule a firm date for their service on January 13, 2017.  When our scheduler called to advise, we had no customer work cancellations and would not be able to do the 12/23/2016 job, she was severely chastised by the customer for not meeting their request.  Again we advised that the 12/23 date was only available if we had had a cancellation and that didn’t happen, and that January 13, 2017 was the date we had scheduled for them.  On January 13,2017 the crew went to the home for the job and attempted to contact the customer for the work assigned that day.   There was no answer at the door, and no answer to the phone calls from the crew cell phones.  The crew advised the office of the lack of response and the office called to see if we could get an answer. We do this as the telephones in the office sent a caller ID for our company and the cell phones with the crews don’t .  Many customers don’t answer an unknown number.   The customer did answer the office and told us forget the work as they decided to go out of town and forgot to let us know.We asked if they wanted to reschedule and we were told they would get back to us if they decided to do that.  We also advised that we like many service companies, doctors, plumbers, electricians, etc  have a cancellation fee for non- notification or cancellation of the work if the notification is less than 24 hours from the scheduled work date and time.  They were very aloof at this point and told us do what we think is right and that they would never use us again.     We sent an invoice to them on the afternoon of January 13,2017 for the service cancellation fee, and we did a follow up collection call on January 26,2017 as payment is due on receipt. This customer never reached out to us to discuss the cancellation fee issue and in fact went straight to the Revdex.com for resolution. We have been in this area for over 13 years and our record of service with our customers, with the Revdex.com and other companies is exemplary and fees of this type are not out of the ordinary when cancellations occur without notification by the party doing the cancellation.

This business did an unsatisfactory, incompetent job cleaning my rain gutters. When I asked them to correct their shoddy work, one of their employees called me a "[redacted]", and they refused to complete the work in a proper manner. When I offered to pay for the work if they would send out a different crew to cure the defects in the first crew's work, they refused to do so.","neg-1

This company cleaned our gutters on 5/21/14 and in the process they damaged a portion of the roof, shingles are broke,We were not home when they cleaned the gutters. When I returned home, as I was pulling into the drive way, I looked up on the roof and noticed that there was damage to the roof, several shingles appeared to be broken. I called the company and told them about the issue. The individual I talked with ([redacted] or [redacted]?)said that he was going to talk with the guys that provided the service and call me back. He did call me back fairly quick to tell me that he talked with the guys and they knew exactly which house it was and their response was that there was a lot of debris and that's what caused the damage to the roof. I expressed my disbelief that leafs could have broken the shingles. [redacted] said that there was a lot of it and I could hire a roofer and fix the problem. Several days later my husband called back and talked with [redacted] and asked that someone else come out and assess the damage because we did not believe that debris could have caused the shingles to break. [redacted] said that he will ask the owner of the company to call us and discuss this issue. This was several weeks ago and we have not received a call from the owner of the company yet.Desired SettlementI would like the company to own up to the fact that their workers damaged my roof, broken several shingles and I would like for the portion of the roof that was damaged to be fixed and the company should pay for it. Business Response I am sorry that your shingles have an issue but we did not damage them. We have been out several times to take a look at them. As we explained the shingles you see that are damaged were not visible to you previously because they were covered in tree debris. Once we cleaned the debris the problems became visible. Your roof appears to be in poor shape overall and 20-30 years old with heavy moss growing on one side. Although I know that you may find it difficult to believe I have talked at great length with our crew that serviced your home and they are certain those bad shingles were damaged prior to our arrival.Consumer Response Thank you for your response to our complaint. Unfortunately, we do not agree with your assessment, and know for a fact that the shingles were not damaged prior to your crew working on the roof. The last person I spoke with by phone told me that photos had been taken showing how the debris was pressing down on the roof and causing this damage. I asked to see these photos, but received no call or follow-up. The "debris" was leaves and pine needles from only one season. I would be happy to review the photos, and would prefer that I am present next time one of your workers is here to look at the damage. Lastly, the roof is not in bad repair as you assert. I appreciate that you have spoken "at great length" with your crew, but would have appreciated someone on your team contacting me directly and reviewing the damage together.

Review: We contracted this company to clean the gutters on our home November 19,2013.At the time of service the person sent to complete the work was present a very short amount of time. Upon questioning this we were told that all gutters had been cleaned (short of climbing a very tall ladder ourselves, we were hopeful he was being truthful).Once the leaves this had finished falling we once again called out a company based on a recommendation from our contractor. The company sent out two men who worked for a couple of hours on our gutters. Once they finished we were asked if we had ever had our gutters cleaned out, because there was an excessive amount of material in areas. We questioned this and were told that those areas had not been cleaned out at all. Our home is a new build and was completed in 2013 so everything is brand new.Desired Settlement: We are requesting only a refund of the monies we paid out to this company for services not rendered as stated.

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with the company and he stated that leaves fall all throughout the year and people clean their gutters at least 3 to 4 times a year. States the customer was serviced over a year ago.

Review: Every year since 10/2008, I have had Window Gang provide the following services: Windows Washed & Waxed Outside

Only; Chemical Wash House by hand; Chemical Wash shed; Power Wash Walls; Light Fixtures Cleaned; Clean Gutter Facings; Chemical Wash Front Entrance brick steps and paid for the fuel. The work performed on Sat., 6/6/15 is

unsatisfactory and unacceptable. Several window sills were not cleaned; several window sills were cleaned on only

one side; beetle nests remained in some of the windows and had not been removed; several screens were dirty and still had grime and mildew on them; two of the exterior lights fixtures were not cleaned; the bottom "tray" of the vinyl board & batten siding was not cleaned. As I cleaned the interior windows, I discovered the amount of work that was NOT done - yet I paid for these services. I called Window Gang on Monday 6/15/15 to complain of the poor quality of work. [redacted], Office Personnel, who I have dealt with directly for years and always scheduled the work thru her was apologetic and would advise [redacted], the owner, of my complaint. [redacted] offered to send the same worker to my home to redo the work, but I advised [redacted] that I had already cleaned all the deficient areas. [redacted] then offered a free service/no charge for the next service which would be scheduled in 6/2016. I commented to [redacted] that I did not feel comfortable with this due to the possibility that when I contacted them a year later - they might not be able to locate any notes in my account documenting I was due a no charge service. So I asked if they could offer a partial refund or adjustment. [redacted] now claims that Troy, Va is not in his service area and that he will not longer be servicing Troy. For 7 years, I have paid for these services, invoices had my name and address on it, and my checks had my name and address on the. So now all of a sudden I am not in their service area ?Desired Settlement: I would like a partial refund. I paid $726.00 for these services and a partial refund would be satisfactory.
