on September 27, 2018 Window Makeover did work on several windows in our home. the work was satisfactory EXCEPT the large window in the sunroom. they replaced the glass BUT then used the old and dried out "window boot". When I asked about this, as I was dissatisfied, I was told by Pedro that window boots are no longer manufactured. (really?) we paid $425 for this service and it's not been done properly. I have written a letter and received a phone call from Heath on Monday 11/5/18, which I returned and left a message. I have not heard a word since.
I had a nice conversation with the homeowner to discuss the concern. I explained that what Pedro said was true and that the "window boot" is not available and the only way to replace the glass panel was to re-use the "window boot". Most of the work we do is window restoration and it gives homeowners an alternative to having to buy new custom windows. In this case, the homeowner's only other recourse was to buy a new window, which would cost thousands of dollars because it is so big (our restoration cost was $425) and not match the existing window.
I also assured the homeowner that the work we did is very common for us and that we stand behind our work with a 10 year warranty.
The homeowner expressed that our conversation helped explain why we do what we do and they were satisfied at this point. Hopefully, they will retract the complaint.
