Window World of Long Island Reviews (15)

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved Sincerely, [redacted]

The Company Window World came within my home to show me the windows that would be installed and an agreement was reached on how I would like the work doneWhen the time came to install the windows, not only did they bring a completely different window than what was shown but they replaced none of the rotten wood that was degraded from the previous windowThis new installation is now causing water to leak in the areas where they replaced the windows and the windows themselves they brought were damagedI've attempted to contact them times after this terrible installation and I have yet to receive any form of response

They did an absolute fabulous job on the aluminum siding that was done on our how The work was neat and professional They completed it in a timely fashion and caused no disruption to the home in any way I would highly recommend them to anyone

On July *, 2016, I signed a contract with Window World of LI for installation and replacement of three windows in the attic of my home On August *, 2016, the installer arrived at my home and stated "I cannot install the three windows today because I do NOT have the materials." The installer placed a call to the office of Window World and then stated to me that I would get a call from Window World sometime today! I immediately called Window World and spoke with Kelly Kelly advised me that she would advise Steve, the salesman, of the situation I was given Steve the salesman cell number and was advised to call him Steve advised me that I had to pay an additional $ I stated that I signed a contract in the amount of $and that I gave a deposit of $from my credit card My daughter called on my behalf and was told by Steve's boss, Les L***, President that I had the choice of paying the additional $or I could get my deposit back My question: What are my rights

They claim that their products and services are better than the competitionIt is far from that as I have experienced: after installing most of my windows, the "lifetime Warranty" is a jokeThose promises are only as good as the company's attitude and loyalty towards clients: this business sends out incompetent, lazy repairmen; the girl at the office, though friendly, does not really take care of establishing communication regarding a claim, and my attempt to discuss this matter with the owner resulted in excuses shielding the owner and his son from my telephone callI have leaks on windows with a rounded top, and these issues are still not resolved since months of trying to get the bad installation of these windows fixedThis business is unprofessional, "out-for-your-money" attitude is quite obvious, and I alert any future customer of this contractor in sincerityWe homeowners on Long Island don't need those types of crooks!

Sorry *** *** for your multiple visitsHowever, at your initial service appointment request, it was for a storm door hardware issue, which was resolved at the first visitOur service technician observed other problems when we were servicing the door handle (which he did not have to admit to)
and said we would order the parts and fix the door to perfect itPlease understand that we are not the manufacturer of the parts, only the contractor trying to replace those partsSometimes we order the parts, and the wrong part comes in, which I believe is something that has happened during one of our visitsThese parts may take many weeks for them to arrive to our store from the manufacturerI do understand that we have a service appointment next Thursday, August ***, where hopefully we can resolve these problems during this one visit for goodPlease remember we are tryingUnlike many other companies who would have not returned, or possibly addressed additional issues that were discovered, we are trying to make this door correctSometimes we may have to return to a home for multiple visits to resolve a problem; however, we do not give up and we will return as many times as it takes to correct the defective door problem

The sales man came on FridayWe discussed that the process should be fastHe said that a tech guy will have to come to remeasure everything (which is odd since usually the same person does the measuring) Five days later I am calling the office They tell me they do not even have my contract but they surely cashed the checkI said I want to cancel since the NY cancellation form was never provided to me I can cancel at any timeThe person in the office all over sudden does not have sales guy's numberThis is pathetic

Poor quality and unprofessional service installing doors and windows beware didn't insulate window very drafty door sticksNot worth agrevation

I believe that I should not receive this complaint against my company. Attached is a copy of the contract. As you can see, the contract was signed on June *, 2014. The total contract was for $1349.00 and we ask for a 50% deposit, so the customer paid $675.00 cash. As we go into production with a new...

job, we send the order over to the manufacturer, at that point we discovered that the door could not be made with the correct specs to fit the customer's home. We contacted the customer as soon we found this out and said we would have to cancel the job and they would receive a full refund. As one would expect, the customer called up when they did not receive their refund; however, the customer stated her name was [redacted]'s girlfriend, we later discovered). The original appointment when [redacted] went out to the home on June *, 2014, was scheduled in [redacted]'s name. When we looked in her file, we saw that there was no contract attached to her name, therefore we could not issue a check to a customer that did not have a purchase order number. On July *, 2014, [redacted] mentioned that the contract may be in her boyfriend's name, [redacted]. We were now able to find the contract and issue the check to [redacted], the one who signed the contract. The check was written on July **, 2014 (check number [redacted], is attached and dated 7/**/2014). If you refer back to the contract, you see the customer's address [redacted]) listed under the customer's name ([redacted]); this is the location where the check was mailed on July **, 2014. It was not until we received this complaint when we noticed the customer's address to be written as "[redacted]". I called up [redacted] as soon as I noticed the difference, and she agreed that the address that was signed on our contract was incorrect. This was a complaint from a customer who got outraged on the phone, who never mentioned that the contract was in her boyfriend's name. When we tried to look it up by the address, we could not find the contract. The contract we had on file, may have had an incorrect address, however it was on the contract that [redacted] signed off on, which therefore made it into our system. This complaint would have never been issued if they noticed the incorrect address on the contract that they signed off on because the check would have made it to the correct address. I did a stop-payment on the check that went out to the wrong address and I personally went to the customer's home and hand-delivered the check.

Review: Window World ([redacted]) emailed me to arrange a free in-home estimate after I completed an online form which clearly indicated my address. When I phoned [redacted], she stated that they could not come all the way out from Farmingdale, New York to my home although she was fully aware of my address upfront and my home is one of the five markets they service per their website ([redacted]).Desired Settlement: I would like to see Window World's website updated to clearly let consumers know any limitations to working within their service areas.

Response:

We do install windows in Brooklyn; we simply had a miscommunication in the office regarding our policy on Brooklyn installations. With that said, our office manager ([redacted]) contacted [redacted] earlier today; discussed pricing over the phone and set an appointment with a salesman for this Thursday (8/*/13) at 2:00. The customer seemed completely satisfied with the end result. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any concerns. [redacted].

Review: I had an external screen door that was installed improperly by Window World, I contacted them in April 2014, because the screen door handle fell off, a contractor came to the house to fix the handle and at that time we notice that the screen door was not properly aligned with the installed frame, causing a gap at the top. The contractor also noted that the first installers did not put the proper sweep at the bottom of the screen door, there was a crack in the frame and the bracket to the door closer was bent. I called Window World at least eight times to get someone out to the house to fix these problems. To date five contractors from Window World came, each time they came they had the wrong parts. They were very sorry and ensured me that they would get the right parts next time. On three occasions the contractors took pictures of the problems only to return again with the wrong parts. The only other thing they fixed besides the handle was the cracked frame. The last time they came on July [redacted] and couldn't fix the screen door, I called the office once again and was told that Window World would expedite the problem. It's now mid August?Desired Settlement: Have the Screen door align with the frame so that it closes properly, put on the proper sweep and replace the bent bracket.

Sorry [redacted] for your multiple visits. However, at your initial service appointment request, it was for a storm door hardware issue, which was resolved at the first visit. Our service technician observed other problems when we were servicing the door handle (which he did not have to admit to) and said we would order the parts and fix the door to perfect it. Please understand that we are not the manufacturer of the parts, only the contractor trying to replace those parts. Sometimes we order the parts, and the wrong part comes in, which I believe is something that has happened during one of our visits. These parts may take many weeks for them to arrive to our store from the manufacturer. I do understand that we have a service appointment next Thursday, August [redacted], where hopefully we can resolve these problems during this one visit for good. Please remember we are trying. Unlike many other companies who would have not returned, or possibly addressed additional issues that were discovered, we are trying to make this door correct. Sometimes we may have to return to a home for multiple visits to resolve a problem; however, we do not give up and we will return as many times as it takes to correct the defective door problem.

Review: On June * 2014 I had representative from Window World Of Long Island by the name of [redacted] come and give me an estimate price for installation of a new door the total was $675.00 which was 50% deposit for the door. A week later my girlfriend gets a call from the representative [redacted] stating that due to insufficient spacing the door can not be installed and that a full refund for the amount of $675.00 will be mailed out in a couple of days. Fast forward to July * 2014 my girlfriend calls to find out the whereabouts of the money and speaks with another representative by the name of [redacted] in which she says that it will be in the mail with Friday's mail being July ** 2014. I call Wednesday July ** 2014 and I get the same representative on the phone [redacted] and she told me it went out on Friday and gave me a check number [redacted] as if that was going to resolve the situation. It is now July ** 2014 and no check was mailed nor received, no one seems like they want to give an answer nor do they seem interested in refunding my money, continous run a round.Desired Settlement: $675.00

Response:

This has been a winter filled with Ice and snow so performing the repair's has been delayed. When repair's require walking on a ice covered roof or ladders that need to be placed on ice covered ground you need to wait for freezing conditions to warm up for saftey reasons. So the Ice has melted and the tempertures have gone above freezing last week and we have return and 99% of the work has been completed. One simple molding is needed to be replaced and the job will be done. We should have molding ready for installation later this week and if customer permites us entry the job will be 100% done soon.
