Review: I signed a contract that stayed they would be at my house 1/*/16 to start replacing windows that I ordered threw them. They did not show up and now they are saying that they don't have to show up today. There sales man a bill smalz has not returned my phone calls as of this conversation. I took days off and lost pay to be around for them. The sales man and the store I got the windows both verbally staed that they would be here today. The sales man also kept changing the contract before I signed to keep getting more money out of me.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement on time lost from me taking off work. Windows done and any damage that happened to my house fixed because of the delay its taking for them to do the windows. And windows done when I'm available not there schedule.

Response:

I talked to [redacted] the day he thought our installers were going to install the windows in his home. As per the contract the start date is an estimated date. I explained to him that the product ordered for his project wasn't due in until 1/**/16. The order was signed off by [redacted] on [redacted], the order was placed on [redacted] after we went to [redacted] house to do a re-measure to make sure the windows would be ordered properly. The material was all special order and was a 4 week lead time, but we needed to add in the week a half for the x-mas break. He went to the store to ask one of the salesman when we would install, they are not privy to that info, when there is a phone # for our install division on the header of his order which he could have called & got the info he needed. The product is now here and we have a scheduled date for 1/**/16 which he's been called & is fully aware of. The total amount of the order is approximately 10.3k. I'm not sure why he put down 13k. While our salesman should have explained to [redacted] that the start date was approximate, [redacted] clearly should have read that & or called the phone # on the contract.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I had to take off of work lost money for not going to work. This is a perfect example of a company lieing and using there weight to push the consumer around. The sales man never explained this to me. They have 1 salesman for all of long island and I believe he is over whelmed and forgets to explain details to consumers. This has put a strain on my family. The window I need replaced in my 22 months old room has mold growing on it. I started this process in September and only now is this getting taken care of. This company has no consideration for the wellness of my family they only care about making money. And I couldn't get out of the contract with out loosing money. So you get stuck into this contract with no way out. So I have been waiting almost 2 months for them to do the work while my son is breathing in black mold because this company has dragged there feet.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: On 7/**/2015 contractors from Windorama came to rip out my old door for the replacement. They tore it out and when they attempted to install it they realized it didn't fit. The salesperson measured incorrectly. My double doors had to be temporarily closed up with plywood on my 2 million dollar home for two weeks. They come back and install the new door that was reordered and now its too narrow and doesn't fit again!! They ordered the third door and that came back four months later. It was installed uneventfully until I noticed that a couple of days later the lock would close correctly and it was sticking and also that I was able to see outside through the door jam. I emailed my salesman and he said a service rep would come and inspect. A week later the rep called set up an appointment but of course didn't show up or call as promised. They called me again and service was 12/**/2015. The gentlemen said the door is bad and is separating from the side lights as I suspected because it was quite obvious. This was inevitably going to happen because Windowrama kept the sidelights from the original disaster and just replaced the door so it was not factory direct sealed which is how doors should come. I emailed my salesman James 12/** and still have gotten no answer or call back. This is the biggest disaster and I want my door replaced from the factory properly, and the moldings that I paid for replaced, I paid a painter to paint the inside and outside of my door as well as the walls which will be destroyed when this is replaced. I'm hoping you will be able to rectify this to avoid a legal battle.Desired Settlement: replacement, painted and all custom work redone at Windowrama's expense.

Response:

Betty, There are some issues with [redacted]'s door. I have spoken to her and we are sending a distributor rep out to her house today to inspect it. I assured her that we would take care of all her issues. To set the record straight, WindowRama was closed from 12/** until today so it is understandable why the salesperson didn't get back to her. So she has a person from WindowRama she can contact, I have given her my info so she can have dialog with us.

We ordered a new front door from Window Rama ( [redacted].) on October **. The salesman took our order for a #4040 sapele mahogany door with a clear glass panel. There were custom aspects including size and a wider band under the window to accommodate a mail slot. The door arrived on Dec. * and to our disappointment was raw wood, without hardware and the window had frosted glass. We refused the delivery and tried to call the store. Our salesman 's extension went directly to voicemail ( as we found it did every time we called going forward) We did hear from the delivery warehouse who wanted to know why we refused the door. Two days later we finally heard from the salesman. We asked about the hardware and finish we had pointed out to him. He said they didn't do finishing and he should have discussed hardware with us. He said he didn't know why the glass was frosted and he would call to find out if they could change it and how long it would take. He call us "right back". That took a few days. So we waited for the 6+" x10+" Window to be changed. More than 2 weeks later we got a call that it was ready. We set a delivery date for January 5. We accepted the wrapped door as it had the correct glass and we now knew we had to hire someone to finish the door and install the hardware we had purchased from Wise Hardware in Pelham. When our carpenter removed the wrapping he noticed that the styles of the door were veneered - a detail our salesman never mentioned. Having never purchased an outer entrance door, we had specified we wanted solid wood. That's what we thought we were buying (the contract didn't specify veneered styles either) We called the store and got immediately directed to voicemail again. So I called back to speak with anyone because our carpenter was waiting to stain or not. I was told that all "solid doors" have veneered styles and that a totally solid wood door would cost me $30,000. We decided to keep the door and after blue taping the window my carpenter started to stain it. Actually, the graining was beautiful - that was a welcomed relief. He worked for 2 days to stain the door and then let it dry. He installed the door yesterday (Jan.**) and when he removed the blue tape, I started to cry. This beautiful door, that was not the easiest project we've ever done was finally up but the Tudor grilling had been reinstalled on the INSIDE!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. I called the salesman- voicemail- left a message - no return. I called the store and the receptionist/ operator said he was busy with a customer. I told her the problem and she said she would have a salesman call me. NO CALL CAME. I called back 90 minutes later and a salesman answered at 4:20 on a Friday afternoon . I was very grateful. Paul listened to my problem and wrote up a service ticket for Simpson to address this issue. He was very patient and helpful. I am writing this review because I was appalled by the lack of courtesy, information and professionalism that we experienced. I also am very worried that I may be stuck with this backwards window (not the best ad for your store) I'm hoping this is not the case and this troubled project will be put to rest in short order. Thank you for your consideration, [redacted]

Review: I purchased an Andersen Perma Shield Gliding Patio Door from Windowrama in [redacted]. The handle on the screen hits the door which is causing the screen to dent and bend. I used the Windowrama installer. He stated that he had not seen this before, but the door was installed correctly. His boss came a week or so later and replaced the screen. Same issue . He said that there was nothing that he could do. They had to call Windowrama service. I waited four weeks for them to come. The service technician said that there was nothing that he could do that wouldn't void the warrantly. I called Windowrama again and they said it wasn't a defect, it was the design of the door. The door does not function properly. This is not acceptable.Desired Settlement: Replace with a door that functions properly and the screen does not hit the door.

Response:

Working with the manufacturer of the patio door, Andersen Corp., a service technician was dispatched to [redacted]'s home on Nov **.

The technician adjusted the settings on the door, enabling it to function correctly.

As a follow up to the service technician's visit, an Andersen representative called and spoke with [redacted], who stated that

the technician rectified the problem and that she is satisfied with the way the door is currently performing .

If I can be of further assistance, please call me at ###-###-#### [redacted].

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Windowrama of [redacted] on [redacted] I went here to purchase and install new Patio door. Boy, do I regret that decision. First I felt the price of over $5,000 was too much, but I figured it would be worth it since they are supposed to specialize in this sevice.

After they did initial instalation it was found that the door lock was defective preventing the right side door from opening at all and the screen door frame was damaged. The installer had no clue why this happened. I then had to set up a service call on their schedule. They only had service repairs being done twice a week. They had to come out 3 additional times to finnaly get the door fixed. Every time they came I had to miss work, which cost me money on my paycheck, and a huge inconvenience.

The managers were rude, with no customer service training. They basically acted like I was inconvencing them. The service repair men were grumpy with no customer service training. The icing on the cake was after the door was finnaly fixed, their bill collector called a few hours later to hound me for the balance.

In closing, nobody offered to reduce the price of the sale.I should have been given a discount. I should of been treated with solid customer service after the problem happened. They sold me a defective door. They caused me to lose work time and it was a huge inconvenience. Stay away from WindowRama.
