I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint
I am still essentially being charged $for nothingMr*** rendered no services and the Quality Inn and Suites, he operates is not a charityI do not consider this matter closed and will pursue other ways to resolve this issue
Also, the day cancellation is completely ludicrousThe Quality Inn and Suites in *** ** and *** ** have a day and day of cancellation policies, respectively, for the same "race" weekendI have never heard of a hotel with a day cancellation policyPeople quit jobs, move out of apartments, and sell houses in far less time

Mr*** made a reservation on August 17th, at the Quality Inn & Suites in *** ** This particular reservation was done online; however, Mr*** did not realize that once the reservation has been made it is guaranteed reservation without receiving any money back due to it
being race weekend However, we advised *** that we would not be able to cancel the reservation without charging him Although we did not need to refund Mr***, I decided to give him partial money in the amount of $ I have attached the folio, the cancellation letter, and also attached screen shots showing the date of the reservation along with the information stating the days guaranteed policy I believe we were understanding by even giving Mr*** $ I did not feel the need to refund him anything; however, I did want to award him some amount of compensation I consider this matter closed now.--*** ***Quality Inn & Suites - *** **

We have a 4PM cancellation policy. When making a reservation our front desk agents do inform guests of this policy. I explained to the caller on [redacted] that when making a reservation he was entering into a verbal agreement with the hotel. We agree to hold a room for him and he agrees to pay...

for said room. On this particular date we were sold out and had to turn people away while holding the room for him. . All the guest had to do was call and we would have gladly cancelled  his reservation and sold it to someone else. This is why we require a credit card to make a reservation. If we don't charge people for no shows when we could have sold the room we are losing money.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I understand they have a 4PM cancellation policy, but only because I was informed of that when requesting my refund. No such policy was disclosed to me upon reserving my room as I mentioned in my initial complaint. If the business claims otherwise, that is a complete falsity and I would request proof of them conveying the policy to me. Me agreeing to pay for said room even without cancellation would only have been an agreement if I had agreed to a policy, which I did not.
