The business has responded Please see below: Windows Plus completed two separate jobs for the ***'s starting on to in which we installed all new double insulated twin casement windows on the top floor of their homeOne week later we installed a new architectural roof with 3' of water & ice shield and all new aluminum drip edgeFor months I never received a call from the ***'s relating to any kind of roof leakThere were many rain storms and thunderstorms throughout the summer and fall period in which there was never a leakThen in Feb2014, Jeanne [redacted] called me and said her twin casement window was leaking.I was doing another job that day, but left the job and went to the [redacted] house immediately to examine the leakWhen I pulled up to the house, there was excessive ice build up in all the gutters and the ice was spilling out onto the roof and over all the gutters( I have pictures ).I put up the ladder and examined the new, new construction window that [redacted] thought was leakingEverything was in orderBy the way, there is no soffit or eave where that ice damning was occurring and where the roof was leakingAll the other eaves in the house are 18" to 24" wide and to my knowledge, there are no other leaksI immediately went down and told her she has severe ice d amningThey had a hard time believing it, and I explained the phenomenon to them [redacted] gave me a roof rake, I raked the snow off the roof and chipped away some of the ice, and within an hour, the leak stoppedI called back the ***'s that night and they said it definitely stoppedI went back a couple of months later in the Spring of to examine the roofI was with my painter [redacted] *, who spackled and painted her inside of the window jamb where the leak occurred, at no charge, while I examined the roof to see if there were any signs of a problem that might be causing a leakIn my professional opinion, everything on the roof and above that window in question looked goodThat same Spring, [redacted] had another roofer look at my roof job, and he told her maybe a bigger drip edge would help [redacted] called me, and on her request,I went back to her house late Spring or early summer with two workers and installed a much bigger drip edge,( I took pictures ) a nd even lowered the gutter an inchI still told her I believed it was ice damning, but maybe lowering the gutter a little would helpI didn't hear from the ***'s again until this Feb.*, 2015, almost one full year from when they had the last roof leakOnce again, one year of heavy rain, thundershowers and regular storms went by, never, ever got a call about a roof leakI drove by the house and saw all the ice damning in that same spot, definitely severe ice damningOver the last two years, I went back to [redacted] and [redacted] ***'s house at least to times to help them and give them my professional adviceI told them last year that some solutions for the ice damning could be : 1.) Installing heat cables in the leader and gutter, 2.) Building out a larger soffit in that area, since there really isn't any soffit there now, 3.) Raking off the snow after each snow fall with a roof rake so less ice can build upMy company has been in business for years and has never had one complaint, especially with the Revdex.comThank You
