Windows We Are Inc. Reviews (2)

Review: I have two complaints regarding Windows We Are, Inc. First, I ordered one window (4ft.X17in.) in July 2014 and was informed it would take a “couple of weeks” to receive it. However, after repeated requests it hasn't been delivered. I have spoken to a gentleman named [redacted] at Windows Are We. [redacted] told me he will contact the manufacturer to find out why this is happening and that he would return my call. [redacted] hasn’t returned my calls. Please be advised that I currently have an open cut out in the wall where the window should be, that is covered with plywood. Winter is approaching and I would like to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Secondly, I also returned a door lock, that was the wrong color, 5 weeks ago and the replacement lock hasn't been delivered.Desired Settlement: At this point I want the products I purchased or a refund my money.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

My name is [redacted]. My complaint ID number is [redacted]. According to Windows are We's claim that they did not have me as a customer is technically wrong. Originally they did business with me through a contractor. However, he has moved on and I'm sitting here without a window. It is not my contractor's fault that they have not delivered a window that I paid for. For Windows are We to say that I'm not their customer is an insult to injury and a cop out from their responsibility. Three weeks ago I visited [redacted].) who said the window should arrive in the next two weeks. Again, it's not here! Where is the window? I've been waiting for it since this past summer and it's almost winter. I have a hole in my wall and losing heat because of it.

As I originally stated to you (Revdex.com), I want my window or the $600.00 they received from me through my contractor. Therefore, I would like to have this case re-opened and not closed until one of these resolutions have been attained.

Thank you for your time and complete cooperation.

Respectfully yours,

Response:

We provided [redacted] a replacement window panel, at our expense, and refunded the deposit he paid towards the window.

Review: After a fire in our home, we contracted with Windows We Are to provide and install 10 Kolbe Ultra Series and Heritage Classic custom windows in September 2012. The windows were installed in November. The standard windows do not come with operable screens, but we were told that operable screens would be provided for six windows. All screens were to be aluminum.

The operable screens provided were useless because they had a large gap across the top. After several attempts at fabricating a solution on site, we still do not have any functional operable screens. Their workman would show up, but the work wouldn't be finished, and then there is no return or follow up, and I would have to start calling them again.

We gave up on the operable screens on 2 of the windows, and asked for standard screens, but the standard screens installed were nylon and not aluminum.

The screens installed on the Heritage windows do not secure properly and can easily be pushed out, and also leave raw wood exposed.

Touch-up paint and caulk for the two colors used have not been provided as promised.

Concrete work around one of the windows has never been finished as promised.

Now three of the Ultra windows are not functioning properly and either can't be raised or tilted because the catch mechanism is not releasing.

They have not returned my recent calls.Desired Settlement: Provide operable screens on 4 windows. If Windows We Are is not capable of fabricating these screens so that they will function and keep out insects, they should find a designer/contractor who can do this and reimburse them to do the job.

Replace the nylon screens with aluminum screens.

Adjust the Ultra windows so that they function properly and can be raised and tilted. If this is not possible, replace the windows under warranty.

Correct the installation of the screens in the Heritage windows so that the screens are secure and the wood is protected.

Parge the concrete repair at the top of one window.

Provide touch-up paint and caulk in colors used.

Response:

This complaint has been resolved between [redacted] and

Windows We Are. We asked a

representative from Kolbe & Kolbe Millwork Co, Inc. (the windows vendor we

purchased from to complete the installation job) to visit the site to examine

the windows and confirm that everything was done to spec. [redacted] seemed pleased with this.

Thank you for the timely resolution of this complaint with

the Revdex.com,
