Review: I received the glass on May 2, 2014. It was installed by a auto shop on May 5th. The door glass cracked after 5-10 uses the same day. Purchased a used OEM window from the junk yard on May 9th. The glass was installed by the same shop. Still working fine as of 06/17/2014. The glass from Windowstogo was defective and very poor quality. I forwarded pics which showed this to be true. The company refused to fix the problem or offer any compensation. They stated that it was up to me to know about defects. This company states on their website that the glass is OEM quality. Not even close. There is a space between the panes that is not present on the OEM glass. Again, customer service refused to do anything even after I had forwarded the pictures showing the difference.Desired Settlement: I want to return the defective glass where it was received for a full refund.

Response:

(Refunded full amount on invoice 69401)

As explained the glass we sold you was an original equipment brand. When someone orders "glass only" we can not be responsible for damage to the part by a third person after it leaves the warehouse. This door glass is a laminated style and if an installer were to hit it in any way during the installation process a crack could appear after it is rolled up and down. Our staff handled it correctly based on our policy that once the part

leaves the warehouse in good condition, it can not be returned damaged. Having said the I took a look at the picture you sent over and I believe that their was nothing wrong with the glass but that when the attachment was glued on by the manufacturer, a condition occurred where the glass instead of being cushioned in the rubberized glue, came in contact with the metal attachment and that is why it cracked. This is a very uncommon problem. Since I believe this could have been a manufacture problem I have credited your credit card in full. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sincerely,

Windshields To Go USA

Review: I entered a contract with Windshields To Go (hereafter referred to as WTG) for a windshield replacement scheduled on Saturday, March 7, 2015. On March 5th, I received a call stating they could not come out. I called to cancel and the CSR stated she could reassign to another company as long as I could extend the show up time from 8 to 1, to 8 to 3pm. I agreed. We waited the entire day and at one point calling WTG's 800 number that is not monitored on the weekends. The contractor never showed, never called and I had to call WTG Monday morning to cancel the order and verify the release of funds posted to the credit card. This put undo stress on us as I now had to make arraignments to get my daughter to work and picked up.Desired Settlement: I am looking to WTG to pay the difference between their charge and what we are paying AAA to replace the windshield as compensation for the contractor being a no-show. AAA is charging $361.54 leaving a net due of $42.70. Both contracts are available for review.

Response:

We are sorry for the "no show" on Saturday. It was not the installers fault, he is very reliable. It looks like there was a transmission issue with the order getting to him. Although your request is not something we would normally do, management has decided to send you a check for the amount requested. Again sorry for your inconvenience. Sincerely, [redacted]

Review: I ordered a replacement window for my truck. Windshields to go must have quality control issues because they contract to have local companies do their work. The window they installed was not OEM but an aftermarket that did not fit. Not only did the contractor scratch and dent my truck, but broke the old window sending glass everywhere. He did not know what he was doing. We just had the first major wind and rain storm since installation. It leaked and filled the truck with water. I had to call someone out to fix this mess the next AM. When the aftermarket window was removed (PGW brand) the seal was cracked and dry rotted. He replaced it with OEM glass. I called Windshields To Go and emailed them several pictures of water coming in, the PGW logo, the cracked and dry rotted seal. The woman was not as nice as when I placed my order and said that she had not ordered what they brought me. However, she was going to call them and call me the next AM. That was yesterday. When I called today, much to my surprise (not), the number was disconnected. I am amazed that this company has an A+ rating. I will continue to call them and let this be a warning to others.Desired Settlement: I paid $280.00 to Windshields To Go for a window that had seals so dry rotted, it had to have been sitting in a warehouse for who knows how long. The contractor did not use an OEM window. I had to pay a competent installer $225.00 to put a brand new OEM window in, as I was not calling to let the previous guy anywhere near my vehicle. It would be nice to get a full refund but I would be satisfied with them paying just the extra $225.00 that I had to pay for the right window & proper installation.

Response:

Please accept our apologies for the missed Saturday appointment. As you know the installer did not receive the email we sent to him. We are glad we were able to get this completed for you today. You were not charged on Saturday, only authorized. We will be capturing the sale tomorrow night. Again sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.

Review: On January 7, 2014 an installer was scheduled to come out and install a windshield for us between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. No one ever showed up. I called them and they said the installer wrote down January 9 instead of the January 7. They also said that they would not have been able to install the windshield because it was too cold. I did not receive a call or email that my windshield would not be able to be installed, not even the day of. I had to call them. I asked for a discount or what they already charged me because my husband took off half a day from work to get it done. They said they would talk to the manager and call me back. When they called me back they said they couldn't give me a discount because they offer the lowest prices in the nation. I then told them to cancel my order. They cancelled and told me that I would receive an email which I NEVER received. I did the see the pending transaction for $238.35 drop off my account so I thought that was the end of it. This morning I look at my account and they charged me again for the same amount of $238.35. This debit made my account NEGATIVE and I incurred a total of $105 of NSF fees because I had other transactions that posted. I called Windsheilds To Go to let them know what happened and she said the last correspondence she saw was that it was rescheduled which is wrong. The recorded phone calls will prove that I spoke to someone about cancelling on January 7. My account also shows that it was processing January 8 and fell off on January 9 which should have been the end of it. The lady authorized a credit to my account and sent me an email. I asked her about them paying for NSF fees and she said call my bank because they may refund them even though it was their fault! I now have no money in my account, my fees will not be reimbursed because I called my bank, and I still have to figure out how I am going to make it until this is straightened out. In addition to my refund I would like $105 for NSF fees and $100 for the work my husband missed.Desired Settlement: I want a total of $305 credited to my account including the $105 NSF fees, $100 my husband missed for taking off work, and $100 for the money I would have left in my account if the $238.35 wasn't charged to my account.

Response:

Sorry for our mistake and any inconvenience it has caused. In addition to the full credit to your credit card, we have mailed a check out today (1-15-15) in the amount of $105.00 to cover the NSF charges we helped cause.Sincerely,Windshields To Go USA Inc

Review: Windshield was installed improperly. All the parts that were required were ordered or installed. Moulding was not installed properly, gaps in seal allows weather to get into car (we have pictures). Called to have repaired and after two weeks and phone calls (in which I was hung up on) nothing has been done (keep getting pushed back or excuses made). Company has received their money. Windshield To Go subcontracts and lacks customer service and is VERY rude.Desired Settlement: I want my windshield repaired properly and a refund for two weeks of grief dealing with this company and their subcontractor.

Business

Response:

Sorry you had a problem with this installation. Weather was a problem. This shop did definitely drop the ball. We have removed them from our system. We are glad it did finally get installed correctly and have refunded the charge for your aggravation. We get over a thousand orders a month and as you can see from the lack of complaints with the Revdex.com, we have a small percentage of problems. Again we are sorry you were one of them.

Sincerely,

Windshields to Go USA

Review: I was quoted a installed price for a rear glass replacement in a 1985 Pontiac Firebird of $238.82. I placed an order with them on 7/7/14 and today on 7/8/14 I get a call stating the glass is unavailable unless I pay $446 for the glass.Desired Settlement: I want them to honor their quote and install the glass as originally quoted.

Business

Response:

Sorry this glass is no longer available from the local warehouses. The price was quoted based on that availability. At check out we do say "You are not charged during this

checkout. The initial authorization will only occur after we verify

availability. If there are any choices or extra parts needed, we will

contact you. If this is for an installation, the funds will be captured

after the installation." You were not charged. We did try to locate the glass for you and quoted what we were able to find. Your order has been canceled since we were not able to supply you the glass at a price you were happy with. Again sorry for the misunderstanding.

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: I needed a windshield due to a rock breaking current one. I do not have a credit card. I was hunting for a service that took Pay Pal. My son-in-law found a place for $189 total. I called them and they only took credit cards. So I looked on line and found Windshields to go it showed they did repair in GA, and took Pay Pal. The price was $198. So I called and made the appt they charged my Pay Pal and set up an absolute appt. The DAY of the appt they sent an e mail and they could not make it and rescheduled for 4 days later. Again I called and they said that was it accept or not. Reluctantly I said ok. Then I got a call about 3 hours later saying (even though I had paid and had an appt) that I needed to pay more and the price would be $345. Bait Switch to me. So I said no they already had been paid and scheduled appt. No response. Couple hours later I got an e mail cancelling the appt. What? I called and they said they cancelled because I asked for it to be cancelled? Very confused at this point. I was going in hospital day after the scheduled appt so I said I had to have windshield fixed and they rescheduled. Not a happy camper but circumstances were such I had to fix windshield. Four hours after they said they would be here a truck arrived from the company that my son-in-law contacted to do the job at $189? Again totally confused. They said that Windshields to go is merely a phone company that takes orders and schedules other companies to do the job. So already I am paying $156 over the service that the company that did the installation cost? Sounds like a heck of a scam. It is now 3 days after they "installed" thd weindow and the job is not finished. I have called hundreds of times been on hold from 20 minutes to 45 minutes trying to find out what is going on and when the job will be finished. I am an old person and can't believe the stress and the dollars that I have gone through on just trying to have my windshield fixed. They should tell people they don't do job.Desired Settlement: The job needs to be finished. I should not have to pay more than the job would cost from the people that did the job and most importantly TELL people what they are in for and when you go through them you have no resolution/recourse for work proficiency as they don't do the work. I may be old but will be sure to get the word out on the "bait switch" and "scam" aspects of this organization There is only two number 82303 and 8562 no contracts no bill etc. just e mail and holding on phone.

Response:

Ms N[redacted], Sorry for the problem with your order. Your order came over online to replace your windshield for $285.58. $10 dollars was added for a molding. A link to PayPal was sent to you for an authorization. You followed the link and authorized the amount. We are a retail glass company, not just a call center. We sent the glass over to a local glass shop and contracted with them for the installation. Some of the problem with delay was that your son-in-law got involved and canceled the order and you had to re-instate it. There are no notes about a $345.00 price increase. There was a problem with the rear view mirror and getting back out to get it secured. From the notes that has been done. For all the confusion we may have caused, we have run a credit to your PayPal account that will bring your total to just $195.00.Sincerely,B[redacted] / Windshields to Go USA IncPS Our phone system is set to send a caller to voice mail after 4 minutes. I checked our phone logs from the time you placed your order and when we got your mirror repaired, and I do not show any hold times you describe.

Review: I had my windshield replaced via windshield to go on 2011 BMW X3 SUV. It was convenient to leave my car at home and have it repaired while I was working. when I got home I noticed the paint was striped on the left windshield molding. Which has to be removed and reinstalled after putting in the new windshield. I contacted the installer. He never got back to me and then called customer service. Their response to the damaged windshield molding that it was pre-existing and I noticed because I had my windshield repaired. Customer service also sent me an email with pasted discussions from BMW forums of paint chip problems. My situation involves more than just small paint chipping, the paints is stripped/ missing from start of the windshield molding to the end of it. It's tasteless and insensitive in their part to send email postings from forums.I am certain, as well as, my spouse 100% certain we did not have this before the installation. I will dispute it with my credit card and fill out a complaint with Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I want them to replace what they damaged. It's about $80.00 for the piece and for their installer to replace it.
