*** *** *** *** did close our Infant Room because of the lack of full time children in that classroom and none that were enrolled to startIt was not feasible to keep this room open with two full time infants and the others being very part timeAlso, the center did not have enough qualified teachers to keep this particular room open and was losing money keeping it in operationWe do not have anything in our contract that states that *** *** *** *** will give two weeks notice before closing a classroomMrs*** did keep her other child at *** *** *** *** for two weeks after the infant room closed, stating that she had care for her infant at home

I am rejecting this response because:
Your business appeared to be short staffed all summer so I find it hard to believe that you did not see this situation approachingWhile I am disappointed that the infant room closed, I understand that you had to do itWhat I do not appreciate is the short noticeAs I stated earlier, we do not feel welcome at your business and so will not be returningFor these reasons I would still like to be reimbursedSince you did provide almost a weeks notice, I would settle for a weeks worth of infant tuition at $

Unfortunately because of a shortage of staff starting that week, I did not have a choice to give any other notice besides the one week.  We had to close the smallest room in order to be staffed correctly with our teachers throughout the daycare.  Our one year old room had 10 children and our infant room had less than 3 full time children. If I had any other choice to keep the room open I would have done it.  Everyone is looking for good employees everywhere in every field and in early childhood it is even harder to find.  I am truly sorry that I had to close it but there was no other options.  I didn't want to close any rooms.  I did not collect any money for time that they were not in care.  We were only able to give one week notice for this reason of a shortage of staff.  It was beyond my control.  We value all of our clients and want to give the best service possible. We are going to less classrooms and a very structured academic curriculum for our ages 1-5.  I will give a two week credit for both kids if they choose to come back in our program and see if they like it once they are 1 year of age. I feel this is fair considering it was a decision which was out of my control.

I do understand that [redacted] is your business and you have a right to make a profit. What I have a complaint with is that our contract requires us to give [redacted] two weeks notice when ending care for our child, but you did not afford us the same respect.  I also feel that is poor business practice when instead of trying other business options, such as increasing prices or expanding  advertising, you decided that your best option was to give your clients 4 days notice to terminate services. As for qualified teachers, the two already employed for that room seemed very qualified and did not indicate a desire to leave. We did keep our older child at [redacted] for several reasons. One was that at the end of those 4 days, there was absolutely zero daycare providers we found that could accommodate a 3 year old and an infant. We had considered leaving our son at [redacted] then having our daughter return in 3 months when she could attend the toddler room. Unfortunately when we returned on the following Monday, it was implied that we were neither expected nor welcome to return. As such we gave verbal notice that our son would not return at the end of the following week. As for care for our daughter during that time, of course figured something out. Obviously you cannot leave an infant home alone. We could be asking for lost wages incurred while searching for alternate daycare providers but we are only asking for 2 weeks tuition for our daughter.

[redacted]This is [redacted] from Jungle cubs complaint # [redacted].  I did keep replying but I cant do much more because I guess she can refuse my replies everytime.  I cant explain it anymore than I did.  I am under no obligation to pay her money because we had to close our infant room.  We did give one week notice and then I didn't have a teacher for the room.  Our contract does not state that we have to give 2 weeks notice and if I could I would have but if I don't have a teacher than there is nothing I can do.   I also returned [redacted] call the day he called and then never got a call back.  It was a business decision I had to make to keep my business running.  That is completely legal and I did nothing wrong so having a strike against me is wrong under the circumstances I was in.  [redacted]
