I have brought my *** in for
1) Recall ( Rear back up sensors ) in mid 2017
a. A week after the recall repair the back up camera did not work nor did any of the displays ( Dash camera / or dash icon ). From this I was hit buy an open door on the back side portion of the car
b. I contacted the dealership the very next morning.
c. There reasoning ? the door that hit you was not DIRECTLY BEHIND THE CAR.
i. The back up sensors show a dash icon that clearly shows side obstacles
ii. The dealer ship denies that this dash icon ( Which we had video filed actually exists )
iii. We had gone back to the dealership that week for further clarification.( At this point we taped all the conversations / approximately 42 minutes long ) ***
2) We brought the car in multiple times for the ? while hard accelerating the car BELLOWS black smoke out the exhaust pipe.
a. The dealerships first response was OIL in the intake manifold.
i. They said it was not under warranty since it was a normal service issue.
1. Since that time we contacted the teachers at *** who teach automotive repairs. NO ONE AT *** EVEN HEARD OF SUCH A SERVICE REPAIR / NOR has any of their friends who work for***
b. The service manager claims they had 5 cases so far in 2017 that this service was done on ***
c. Now you know why we started taping our conversations. AGAIN THE NEVER ENDING STORY CHANGING.

Desired Outcome

Repair 1) THE repair to be done on the side of the car were the open door hit us. 2) The camera issue to be finally fixed. 3) The 5 people names who had the smoke repair done to their car ( This way we can verify that they did have 5 cars that needed this service repair done and take the issue from there.

We have reviewed the history and the concern listed. Regarding the recall on the rear back up sensors, we had discussed the returning of the old parts. However we are unable to return the parts due to the fact that Hyundai Canada reserves the right to take them part as the replacement was done at no charge and considered safety issue and parts defective. We had inspected and reviewed the sensor after the fact with the customer and noticed there was rear bumper and paint damage which could cause and intermittent issue with the sensors. Regarding the camera, unfortunately the warranty has expired and is originally good for 3 year or 60,000k (whichever comes first). We have had many customer experience smoke getting into the intake and required to removed the intake and manually clean to remove oil residue, the service is not a warrantable service and considered a maintenance service.
We are more then willing to offer a discount as a gesture of goodwill for these service of %10 off parts and labor. Please contact me at your convenience if you wish to discuss further.
