Winfield Inn, Inc.

I'd like others to know how poorly we were treated by the management of Winfield Inn in Bayfield, WI. In May of 2015, we had reserved a condominium for a week in August of 2015. 16 days before our vacation, Brooke, the owner, called and said the condo was now not available because of construction. She went on the say how she thought all construction would be completed by June but unfortunately it was not. The most unfortunate part is she did not let us know in advance that their was a problem! Ethically, she should have informed us in June when construction was not completed. Brooke said she could offer us a one- bedroom hotel room, but it wasn't quite available during our vacation week and no cut in the price! I suspect she waited 16 days before our vacation to tell us the bad news on purpose. Brooke repeatedly complained how difficult this was for HER and that they were losing money. Our vacation plans have been ruined. Our time off can not be changed and only 16 days to make other plans. I believe others need to know about this poor business practice and stay away from the Winfield Inn in Bayfield, WI.
