in response to an inquiry from the Revdex.com concerning the events that occurred between my shop and Melissa [redacted] After reading the letter provided to the Revdex.com from Mrs**, I would like to inform the Revdex.com of the events as I and my office manager recallThe day of Friday, March 11, 2016, my shop received a phone call at approximately 2:p.mfrom the Moultrie County Sheriff requesting a car to be picked up from an accident sceneThe accident was located in Dalton City, IL, which is miles away from my shop in Sullivan, ILThe vehicle was picked up after the Moultrie County Sheriff completed their search, which took about minutes, and taken back to SullivanUpon arriving back at the shop in Sullivan, Mrs [redacted] was there, having been brought back by another ladyMrs [redacted] was somewhat incoherent at the time complaining of pain and was not able to give us the information as to who the insurance provider was on the vehicleShe then requested if her friend could get some personal belongings out of the carI went to the vehicle, which was still on the flatbed, and asked her friend what it was that Mrs [redacted] neededI was asked to remove a diaper bag, car seat, and another bag located in the trunkAfter handing over the requested items, all keys from the key ring, with the exception of the vehicle key, were handed over to the friendIf the house key was not in that group of keys, nobody brought that to my attentionAt this point, Mrs [redacted] explained she was going to the hospital and left with her itemsThis was Friday afternoon at approximately 4:p.mMonday morning March 14, I asked my office manager if we had received any calls from Mrs [redacted] concerning the insurance, payment arrangements, and removal of the vehicleNo messages were on the machineThe office manager called Mrs [redacted] and requested insurance information for the vehicleMrs [redacted] informed the office manager that she would be back in contact with her concerning the informationThere was not a request for any additional items to be removed from the vehicleAt this point, I was feeling skeptical of the situation and had the office manager contact the Moultrie County Sheriff to see if they had information about the insurance on the vehicleWe were given insurance information that was given to them at the scene of the accidentUpon calling ***, the insurance provider, we found that the vehicle had been removed from the policyGiving Mrs [redacted] the benefit of the doubt, I waited to be contacted by her just in case there was another insurance providerMrs [redacted] came in later in the afternoon and provided the office manager an insurance card with the same information that she had provided to the sheriff, which was invalidThe office manager informed Mrs [redacted] that the insurance was invalid and gave her the tow bill which totaled $and requested the vehicle title so it could be removedI would like to add that Mrs [redacted] was not charged storage, which normally starts the first dayShe said she could not pay at the time and would be in later to pay the billShe requested to remove more items from the vehicleThe office manager told her that without payment or proof of insurance items could not be removed per shop policyThis is not a policy specifically toward Mrs **, but towards all customersShe left without incidentNo request for keys was made at this timeTuesday morning March 15, Mrs [redacted] and her father arrived at the shop to pay the tow billMrs [redacted] and her father spent approximately minutes disputing the tow bill and badgering the office manager complaining that she was not allowed to have her house key and had to spend the night in a hotelThis was the first time this information was brought to our attentionMrs [redacted] handed the office manager $and said she needed to get into the vehicle to get her debit card to go to an ATM to get the rest of the paymentAt this time, I stepped into the conversation between Mrs **, her father, and the office manager to once again state that no items were to be removed from the vehicleThe father was not happy with the answer and expressed that with some cursing and handed over the additional $ At this point, I lost my temper and proceeded to curseAt this time, the father asked me to step outsideMy response was very specific "You don't want to do that"He continued to be belligerent and I asked him to go outside, not to fight but to remove himself from my shopThe office manager and Mrs [redacted] finished business with payment in full and title exchange as requestedThat afternoon, the salvage yard that Mrs [redacted] had requested arrived to remove the vehicle and the title was given to themAt this point, I have no plan to develop a resolution to the situation and consider it finishedI, in no way shape or form, will reimburse Mrs [redacted] for requested hotel expenseShe was not treated any different than any other customer and is the first, in almost years of business, to conduct herself as she has with my businessIf she would like to pursue the matter further, I will contact my attorney and provide him with the video The vehicle was picked up after the Moultrie County Sheriff completed their search, which took about 30 minutes, and taken back to Sullivan. Upon arriving back at the shop in Sullivan, Mrs ** was there, having been brought back by another lady. Mrs ** was somewhat incoherent at the time complaining of pain and was not able to give us the information as to who the insurance provider was on the vehicle.
