I have researched this case and below is my finding Please let me know if there is any question or need additional information
According to Davey, who is the lead mechanic and owner of Winston Auto Service, *** *** has been coming to this shop for many
years (since 2008). Davey has done a lot of work on Mr***’s cars and on several occasions, he even worked on his car for free. There is still an outstanding invoice that is several months old, which he has not paid yet
When Mr*** brought the car (Chevrolet Caprice) in, he just installed a new engine from somewhere else. Needless to say the car had a lot problem, that’s the reason he brought the car in to Winston Auto. The car’s timing was way off, distributor not installed correctly, very old starter that was not working normal, THE DOOR HANDLE ALREADY BROKEN. Most of the time we started the car to diagnose the existing issues, it back fired which eventually damaged muffler
We spent many hours diagnosing the car, and worked on the timing for hours We did the best we could. Although the car was running a lot better, it was not running the way it should. So, we did not charge all the hours we worked on the car. We didn’t work on anything that is related to Exhaust Head Gasket We recommended him to change the starter and muffler. We only invoiced for lining up the distributor and correcting the timing chain on the car and did not charge any other diagnostic fees. The invoiced amount of $was more than fair and we do not understand why he is claiming all those issue more than months later.
