Revdex.com case [redacted].We received a call from [redacted] services and [redacted] on 1/18/18. I spoke with [redacted] and the [redacted] adviser and we came to the conclusion that we should do a roadside visit to check the oil and determine if there was an oil pressure concern or if the gauge was just...

not working. I am sure this was a recorded conversation so if there is a concern about my being rude to her that will prove otherwise. Ms. [redacted] elected to tow the vehicle rather than have the oil checked and we never discussed charges for anything. When we received the vehicle we inspected it to identify if there were any oil pressure problems caused by our service. There were not. I called Ms. [redacted] on 1/20 and informed her that of this and told her we could get the vehicle into the shop for diagnosis of the gauge problem on Monday 1/22. We performed an electrical diagnosis to figure out why the oil pressure gauge did not work. We found trouble codes for the oil pressure sensor and the brake lamp switch. We diagnosed both and gave Ms. [redacted] an estimate which she declined. When she came to pick the vehicle up there was a standard diagnostic charge which she disputed. Taking into consideration the fact that she felt it was our fault that her oil pressure gauge did not work I offered to split the diagnostic fee with her. I was unaware that she did not feel that was satisfactory until I received this complaint. Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide. [redacted]Revdex.com804 648 0030 Dear [redacted],                Per your request for a response to case [redacted], I have reviewed the situation and do not believe there was any breach of warranty....

When Ms. [redacted] brought her vehicle to us she had a timing chain noise and a concern of oil consumption. Per GM guidelines ( bulletin 13-06-01-003h  attached ) we informed her that we needed to be able to document the oil consumption concern. This would require us to start a consumption test ( Which we did RO 6111270  attached, 90054 miles ) and if we could show the vehicle using more than 1 Qt. in 2000 miles , we would be able to replace the pistons and the timing chains at the same time . The vehicle only exhibited timing chain noise at that time if the oil level was low ( It is the customers responsibility to keep the oil level in the operating range even if the vehicle uses oil ). She returned at 90561 as directed to check the oil which was full (RO 6112002 attached ).Her next visit was at 90988 for engine noise that was determined to be a connecting rod failure ( not related to timing chains. RO 6112718 attached ) . The vehicle warranty for this expired 1/27/2015. We have no service records for this vehicle prior to her first visit. We are happy to answer any questions  related to this matter. Thanks, Ray P[redacted]Service DirectorJim Price Automotive
